Zebco Z-Cast Casting Fishing Rod,

I love Zebco and how they make fishing simple and fun for novice anglers. I have much better rods, but this little gem is never embarrassing and I find I use my Zebcos more than the "good" stuff. The beauty of this rod is obviously the portability. I thought there would be a substantial sacrifice in action, etc. Not so. This economical little wonder is a bundle of fun and doesn't disappoint. I never feel somehow cheated by the economy of this rod: it's durable enough to withstand reasonable abuse, can hide in a car, has a quality build for this price point, and has decent performance. The rod end cover works well for me too. I put a new Zebco 404 on this rod and for well under $40, I have a great little combo suitable for almost any age.

I love pan fishing. Although I do everything too. I like telescoping rods too, so I can grab and go. I also have to eagle claw rod (changed out the reel of course) and by comparison this zebco is a bit stiffer, which is a good thing since telescoping rods are notoriously flexible. I threw my zebco 33 custom z on it (though I plan on changing that out for a different spincaster, but havent made up my mind) and it worked great. I have several rods and reels for certain scenarios. When I am alone, bank fishing, you can't go wrong with this guy here. I throw on a swivel and remove the lure when putting it away and I carry it in my tackle bag. My whole setup is so grab and go -- which is why I love this reel. It's *not* the best rod you will ever have as far as sheer quality, but it might be the best in so far as portability and versatility. Can totally catch bass and even northern (pulled this guy up from a bridge! The pole was bending so bad and I was worried she would break but she held it together). All in all -- buying this you can be sure you are getting value for your money. If you match colors like I do, it looks pretty good too. But this is not something for extreme fishing like tournament bass fishing or trophy fish. If you love pan fishing and maybe some bass, this is perfect. It can do more than that, but it's pretty rough on it lol.

Ordered two Zebco Z-CAST Casting or Spincast Rod 5ft 6in rods. I extended both of them fully then waved/wiggled them around. One pole immediately snapped at the second segment from the top of the pole. Didn't even snap at the joint. I waved the other pole around even more vigorously and it performed fine. It seems like the first pole has some sort of defect in the construction. Will update when receiving a replacement. EDIT: Received a replacement within a week and it works fine with basic stress testing performed. 2 stars to 4 stars. Will possibly bump to 5 stars later if they perform well while actually fishing. SECOND EDIT: Went fishing this past summer and worked fine while casting and catching weeds. No fish caught unfortunately. Bumped to five stars.

I purchased this rod for my oldest grandchild who loves to fish for bass at our local lake. When he got it, his spinning reel wasn't a good match, so he put on another reel that he has. He told me this rod balances well in the hand and he loves the flexibility and sturdiness. He is going to try it next week and give me a fisihing report.

Awesome little rod

Zebco always has good and inexpensive fishing gear. This time I ordered their collapsible Z-cast fishing rod. It's the right length and is well-made. Also it fits perfectly into my carry-on so I don't have to leave it at my rental vacation house. All of Zebco's gear is excellent, even their youth introductory rods/reels are quite good for a very low price. That's the reason I keep buying Zebco rods and reels--for over 50 years!

Bought this telescopic fishing pole on September 20. The tip snapped the first time it was used. I returned it right away and was told I’d get an email with an estimated delivery date for the replacement. It is now October 19, nearly two months later, and still nothing. No updates, no way to contact the company, and no replacement in sight. I wish I had just asked for a refund. Poor quality and zero customer service.

Does exactly what you think. Great for keeping the trunk of a car. Obviously it’s not a professional rod by any means, but for its intended use case it does very well.

Very sturdy. Solid. It is rigid and sensitive enough for me. It is a fiber glass rod, and that's why it is cheap. But I don't care. It will last years. I use it in my Kayak mostly and for brook trout and panfish. It can handle a small mouth bass also or anything less than 5 pounds. Great rod. I like it.
