Irish pop-R&B singer Samantha Mumba has tried to distance herself in interviews from the likes of her teenage peers Britney and 'N Sync. Unfortunately, her resistance to embrace that side of music has led to an album without a strong theme or voice to distinguish Samantha from the rest of the pack. Her voice is lovely, and songs like "Gotta Tell You," "Believe in Me," and the odd, Bowie-sampling "Body II Body" are frothy enough to pack the dance floor, while "Lately" swoons perfectly and "Isn't It Strange?" has a fantastic, swirling atmosphere reminiscent of a carnival. The rest is filler that always sounds vaguely like some other better-known song. Given stronger songs and production, Mumba (with her exotic looks and strong-but-not-showy vocals) will be a U.S. superstar. Until then, she'll just have to settle for being promising. --Ally Kearney Review: Excellent condition - This CD is in perfect condition. Review: Great music - Great music

Contagious Tune!
First time I heard this song on the radio in my car I had to pull over to call the radio station and write down the title and artist. Samantha Mumba's voice is sweet yet powerful, and the tune is absolutely danceable and fun to hear. Even great to work out to! Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

PURE POP PERFECTION
I'm a 23 year old MEGA music fan. So trust me when I say this: her debut album is EXTRAORDINARY. Samantha has two important qualities that stand out: SPIRIT and SOUL. You might dismiss her as a guilty pop pleasure. However, when you dive into the album, you realize that there is SUBSTANCE here. Almost every track on the album stands out as a potential single (the same cannot be said of other artists). The result is an album that stands head and shoulders above the competition. There is great variety and her talent really shines through. That's the strength of her character/spirit. Additionally, many of the songs are passionate and soulful. Buy this album or download it if you are willing to take a chance on a little known artist (in the US) and can appreciate the work for what it is: a masterful piece of art and pure auditory bliss. :)

I can't remember what made me think of Samantha Mumba - her name literally hadn't entered my head since I was a kid, but as soon as I did remember, all her songs came flooding back. After a look on YouTube, I decided to try my luck on Amazon. For under £2, I bought the album that I'd treasured as a kid. The first thing I did when I got it was put it on in the car. It's been a few days now and all the songs have flooded back, I can sing along to them all. I probably look/sound really sad but doesn't everyone love a bit of nostalgia?

Anspieltipps neben dem Titeltrack sind "Lately" und "Til the Night Becomes the Day".
