The HDMI ports on my dumb (not Smart) TV stopped working. We don’t have cable and just used our Fire stick for streaming. Unfortunately you gotta have the HDMI ports to use the Fire stick. The TV repair man said it was probably the motherboard and it wouldn’t be worth fixing it. Before I took the TV to the dump I had the idea of finding an adapter to see if I could get the Fire stick working through the VGA port. I came across this product and got excited. It not only converts the video, but also sends the audio from the HDMI connection so you can use a 3.5mm headphone cable to get the audio through your TV internal speakers or stereo receiver. The package came fairly quick, and when I opened up I was very impressed with the packaging. I had everything plugged up within seconds and I seriously cannot be happier. Saved me hundreds of dollars now that I don’t have to buy a new TV. Thank you Ugreen!

I was in search of something to help setup my Amazon fire TV at the office so I can watch my favorite sports teams on those long nights (SlingBox App). Granted I used to watch on my computer but it doesn't play nice when I try to dual wield my work applications at the same time. What I needed: A unit that would allow for a female HDMI input and either VGA or DVI to connect to my computer monitor. One minor note: DO NOT directly hook up the 3.5mm output jack to headphones or any other audio peripheral that doesn't have a volume button to this unit if your HDMI peripheral is not capable on innate volume control on it's own. The unit is a pass through unit for whatever audio current being output by the HDMI peripheral and does not have any volume control. Thankfully my headphones weren't on my head when I connected the audio cables but it could have been bad (scared the crap out of everybody at the office, yeah it was that loud). On the other hand computer speakers had no issue and audio was clear with no background noise. As for a headphones I ended up getting an inline 3.5mm volume control mechanism to fix the issue. Video quality is solid (as can be expected from VGA) and thanks to this unit I won't have to miss a game.

Purchased the converter to connect the output of an HMDI switchbox (4 input, 1 output) to a standard 15 pin VGA monitor. It works without needing the micro-usb cable, but am unsure what is defined as Stable Video since some of the reviews mention using this converter with Fire TV Sticks (unknown versions) and the Stick becomes warm/hot after a while. At present am only using it to convert an HDMI signal to VGA, although did briefly hook up a standard audio cable to the converter (then audio cable to speakers) and audio was coming through as well! Perhaps the act of drawing power through one's streaming device causes overheating, so using the micro-usb cable prevents overheating? Doubt many bother to check temperature, so this might be something which is commonly overlooked. ...then again, another review states: "when I give him power then my chromecast 2.0 overheat after 10-15 min". Different devices have different power requirements, so flip a coin? Am considering using the micro-usb cable for additional power since ??guessing?? it will not have any adverse effects. Unfortunately the provided three foot cable is too short since I plan to use an AC power adapter, so would need a longer micro-usb cable. Irony being that in September 2025 this converter costs $9.99 while Ugreen's Micro USB Cable, 6FT (aka: B01NBHYAR0) costs $9.49, so basically the six foot cable costs as much as the converter.

I was so relieved I got my PS4 to project to the cheap Dell Monitor my wife picked up for me! The Digital signal from HDMI to DVI didn't work, but converting it to Analog VGA signal did the trick. I had to change the output to 480p, but it's so nice having my man cave up and running. So, it doesn't include a USB to power outlet. Make sure you have a reliable one of those. The first one I tried caused the signal to black out a few times. I also couldn't get a stronger signal than 480p to stay steady. UPDATE: I seem to be having a steady signal with 720p. I may try higher resolution later. I think the problem was my USB to power outlet was bad. Once I swapped that out it seems to be working much better.

This is my 20-nth Ugreen tech product and all have performed admirably. This one is no exception. I used this to convert my old but high end VGA monitor to use as a TV with an Amazon Fire stick and my old desktop speakers. Worked great! Good quality connection. The Firestick won't control the volume on the desktop speakers of course, but for all of $20 (this connector plus an Dukabel audio cable) I have an alternate TV setup.

Audio is good, and powers off of HDMI even when using audio so the USB power is not always necessary which is very convenient. The VGA however does not work on the 19" monitor I have. It "works" partly, but the image is off-center (but my monitor cannot fix it) and the monitor repeatedly says "input not working". To test if it was the monitor or the HDMI-VGA converter I switched over to the HDMI-DVI cable I was using before and it worked flawlessly. Maybe this adapter will work in other cases, so I will shelf it just to feed my curiosity at a later date, but please note this item does not work in all cases.

The adapter functioned as described. I had no issues with the adapter. I connected my laptop to my vga projector with vga cables that I had & with an HDMI cable that I had as well. I ran a dvd on an external dvd player that I also had & everything worked as described. I recommend this adapter to anyone wanting to connect their laptop to a vga projector & play a movie or any other kind of dvd and project it to a screen.

I bought one and have been using it daily for 36 days and it just stopped working. Yesterday, the monitor wouldn't turn on and after restarting and unplugging/replugging a few times, the monitor came on but everything was blue. Today it won't turn on no matter what I try, I have tested my hdmi cable and both ports and everything works until i try using the adapter again. I tried to find a better adapter but it seems like there are 1200 different companies all selling this exact same adapter with a different brand name printed on the outside so i ended up buying another one from this company again. Figured there is no point buying from some other company when they are all the exact same adapter. Really unhappy with my purchase and really unhappy that I had to buy another one that is likely to break eventually as well.

Acheté pour brancher un chtomecast sur une télé ou les prises hdmi avaient rendu l'âme. Le résultat est plutôt surprenant, la qualité d'image est très bonne comparé au pc direct en vga, la prise jack fonctionne très bien c'est nickel 👌👌 Autre fait surprenant de ce combo, c'est le scintillement, il était omniprésent quand la télé était branché en vga, en hdmi c'était bien en 144hz mais la, le scintillement et l'entralecement du rafraîchissements semble avoir disparus.

Ottima scelta, installata senza problemi è stata subito riconosciuta. Ho installato l'adattatore ad un televisore Samsung 22 pollici per collegare la Fire TV di Amazon. L'adattatore (da hdmi a vga) ha inoltre una porta micro usb (per ricevere l'alimentazione della corrente tramite una porta usb. Si può usare la porta usb della tv oppure collegarla ad un carica batteria per cellulari) ed una uscita audio con porta jack tipo quello per gli auricolari dello smartphone. Fortunatamente funziona senza alimentatore e la tv ha una porta audio in entrata con lo stesso tipo di spinotto quindi ho collegato l'audio direttamente alla tv, in modo tale da poter controllare il volume con il telecomando della tv. Funziona bene e non mi ha dato nessun tipo di errore, sia video che audio. Sembra di buona manifattura. Prezzo un pò caro ma di sicuro mi ha risolto il problema della tv che aveva la porta hdmi rotta. Spedizione Amazon Prime eccellente con consegna in un giorno.

1366x768の解像度しか持たない一昔前のTVのPC入力端子にも問題なく対応できました。HDMIでそのままPCとTVと繋いでいたときと異なり、TVのPC入力端子に接続できたことで、画面の表示がはみ出なくなりました。音声出力端子がある点もありがたいです。
