You should have sent it back.Better to be safe than sorry. I have never had a problem like that. I have been using no7 . In the pink jar. I love it .Never had it long enough to get to the expiration. Send it back if you think it was opened

What is the difference is between the "advanced" & the "lift & luminate" serums, the question wasn't answered when asked, please advise?

I believe the lift and luminate is more for serious wrinkles and makes your skin tighter looking.
