Works well, but it did leave some white stain on the metal.

Our aging door locks were starting to stick. They had become quite difficult to turn, and would squeal. I thought I was going to have to replace the locks. But after spraying a shot of this lubricant into the key-way of the lock and working the lock a few times, the locks are working like new again -- easy to turn and no squealing! The lubricant is a volatile liquid solvent that contains particles of Teflon. When you spray it, the liquid carries the Teflon particles deep into the lock mechanism, and then quickly evaporates, leaving the particles behind to lubricate the metal surfaces. Using this spray seems "cleaner" than using powdered graphite for the same purpose -- no sooty black puffs of graphite to stain things. That said, you should be very careful to minimize your exposure to the Teflon in this product. Work outside if you can, or ventilate your work area. Don't breathe the spray, no test sprays, and use the provided plastic straw (comes taped to the 10-oz can) to focus the spray to just where it is needed. The 10-oz can is a bit difficult to operate. Removing the black plastic cap requires the hand strength of an auto mechanic, and inserting the plastic straw into the spray nozzle requires the dexterity of a surgeon. Both get easier after a few uses.

I purchased the Dupont Teflon Non-Stick Dry-Film Aerosol Spray after performing a great deal of research pertaining to lubricants. To begin, my forte is cars, classics, and show vehicles, which I own. I seek only the finest quality products that are available to use mainly on my cars, as well as other uses applicable for lubricants. If the product is used on my cars, I will apply the lubricant anywhere. Dupont is a highly recognized company, being founded many, many years ago. Their technical expertise in technology, as well as the properties used to formulate such products remains unchallenged by any other company. The research of finding the proper lubricant for car door hinges was extensive. The top two products were both from DuPont. I decided to go with the Non-Stick Dry-film Lubricant over the secondary product from Dupont. This choice was made due to the fact of having a dry film coating rather than a liquid coating; my preference. Both products are highly rated. The aforesaid product will work best when applying over clean surfaces. This will coat any surface which creates friction, as to cover and protect all mechanical parts in a most exceptional way. I've only used this on car door hinges, trunk hinges and hood latches, and am extremely pleased with the outcome after only a day. The coating cannot be seen on a white vehicle and remains invisible. This is the aspect which I truly like. No gummy, or sticky substrate running down over anything. DuPont Teflon Non-Stick Dry-Film Lubricant is an exceptional product in which I will give a ten. Most will be hard pressed to find a better dry lubricant which again, remains invisible. The price is fair, and maybe more so than many other brands which claim amazing feats; "only at a far greater price".

I am using this to keep wet snow from sticking to snowshoes and it is working perfect at about 1/4 of the price of aerosol ski wax.
