Works well, lightweight, good value for the price.
The Optimus windshield fits snugly on the iso-butane canisters and blocks the wind well. It also fits well around my Toaks 750ml cook pot so it stores easily in my backpack adding little weight, taking up little space yet saving fuel and making boiling water faster and more efficient. Nothing but good news to report on this item.

Better prepared to cook in the wind and takes up very little space!
My husband has one and I always thought they were unnecessary and silly. Until I saw how well his worked in the wind! I saved money in the past with the little "fold up hinging kind" and I'm giving that away now. This doesn't take up much space since it clips to the canister/pot for storage. Worth the investment.

Limited use of certain pots
I have a Pocket Rocket 2 stove; it only works if you have a small cylinder pot. I was unable to use it for a frying pan since the pot supports fall below the windscreen top. It will be this way for any stove you are using. The ideal setup is using a Toaks style cup or even a Stanley Adventure cook pot for car camping with a small pocket stove. I have tried more than just the Pocket Rocket 2 and they all fall below the top of the windshield. The product works great in extreme wind, but you also need a good stove in those conditions, BRS & other low cost brands just arenโt designed for the extreme wind, but just take longer to boil. This is pretty heavy for anyone who is planning to take this backpacking, use a piece of foil instead. It is great for car camping or a road trip where you are just boiling water.

Great if your pot is the right size and your stove is low profile
Small, simple, and effective. It's not as light as titanium but it also doesn't cost that much. It flexes and clips onto the neck of your fuel can and provides effective wind protection for most low profile stoves without the risk of falling off or causing your fuel can to overheat. Be sure the "radius" of this windshield will work with your pot/cook system. I use it with the Optimus Terra Weekend HE (.95L) pot and it fits perfectly (since it was designed for this pot) and should work fine with similar or smaller diameter pots. It probably won't work with larger diameter pots. I haven't tried doing an actual "weigh your fuel and see how much you save" test but I just like the fact that I can easily rotate this around and have it block the wind and still have access to my stove's igniter and valve on the "downwind side" of the windshield. Because my pot nests inside of this, it essentially added no volume to my backpack, only a little extra weight.

Works extremely well and only adds a few ounces.
It nests around the outside of my 750 pot kit so it only adds a few ounces overall and does what it needs to do. Well made. So it does not take up any space in my pack and could be used even with a alcohol stove. I use it with a BRS stove and they are more wind sensitive than others. It will ultimately save me burn time and extend by canister life.

Cant see thru it but its a hell of a wind shield otherwise ;)
This thing is great. Its simple to use, nests with one of my pots perfectly and does exactly what its supposed to do and well! I said one of my pots though. I have a 1ltr pot with a heat exchanger that I prefer over all my others. Water boils faster in that sort of pot and by a fair margin! The one I have is in my reviews if you care. Its just a little too big to use this windshield with and that's disappointing. Not disappointing enough to make me buy Optimus' heat exchanger pot for 4x the cost...at least not yet. But, I havent had a miserable time dealing with the wind running chow time yet either so who knows :) If you are not a miser like me I think you probably ought to buy their kit that has the stove, shield and heat exchanger pot all in one. I'll bet thats a effin solid kit!!!

Looks like a good idea, but lots of factors to consider
You sometimes have to just try something. IsoPro canister top stove effectiveness is affected by the wind, even though their flame velocity is much higher than that of an Alcohol or Wood burning stove. Can't put a shield for the wind all around the setup, though, because the canister can get too hot (Danger!) So Optimus has this clip-on half-cylinder shield that is to clip on the canister top's lip, so that the canister body can be cool while there is some shielding from the wind for the flame of the stove itself. Of course this will work to some extent, but there are limitations. The burner head must be a bit below the shield, but the stove arms must be at or slightly above the shield. If the arms are below, only what fits within the shield diameter will rest on the arms. You do want some clearance, too, to prevent direct conduction of heat through the shield to the canister below. Don't want to have a fry pan resting on the shield, for example, or a wide mug/pot resting against the shield's side. Best approach is to buy a canister-top stove that is well rated for wind resistance (there are a few). But, if you already have a stove, and its arms are fully inside or above the top of this shield, and you're only boiling water in a mug, maybe this can help, too, especially if it all nests together and this doesn't eat up more space. Otherwise, maybe just pile stuff up to block the wind instead.

Perfect for my needs. Minimalist stove kit.
This, to me, is a nice find. I like the way that itโs designed with a spring clip between the two halves to give them tension when securing it to a canister. I this this will give it longevity, which was a worry for me. It secures securely to the canister and you will have to watch the size of your stove and pots. I paired this with a GSI minimalist cup/pot and a small titanium stove that will nest in the pot. This pot with cozy fits nicely in the windscreen, almost as if was made for it.

No More Wasting Fuel In High Winds
slow delivery but worth the wait. Clips onto any standard diameter isopro fuel canister (MSR, JetBoil, Optimus, Primus etc. (4oz., 8oz. 16oz). This screen while fitting all canisters is limited by the size to pot you can use....I don't have the Optimus Terra pots, which this screen was made for, but it works quite well with my Primus Litech 1 liter solo cook set which has similar dimensions. This windscreen will increase the efficiency of your canister stove as much as 60% in windy conditions. It also saves fuel, and for light packing hikers who rely on a single canister to last the duration of their trek this is an essential piece of kit.

A Car Tenting but not Compact Wind Shield
Sturdy wind guard for camping however not compact enough for backpacking. We disappointed in the latter and also the fact it could not be returned unless damaged.
