Its supposed to be an extra fine diamond stone but in comparison to the other fine Dia-sharp stone(just regular fine) I bought from another vendor server months ago, this one looks more like a coarse diamond stone. It has absolutely no value I was seeking from the purchase.

To start with, Dia-Sharp is a trademark term owned by DMT. This is not a Dia-sharp plate. As far as the grit rating, it's closer to 120 grit than 1200 grit. It is extremely coarse. More corse than any of my 220 grit plates. I conditioned the stone prior to use, but as you can see in the picture, the size of the diamond particles is larger than that of an actual DMT dia-sharp coarse plate(that is also brand new) and no amount of conditioning will make it a 1200 grit plate. With that out of the way, the plate cuts very well. Diamond particles are consistent and go all the way to the edge, which is something DMT has struggled with in the past. I gave it two stars because it is actually really good for what it is. It just isn't as advertised. The plate you get may be a 1200 grit. It's entirely possible that mine was put in the wrong box by accident, but all I can do is review what I have. The plate on the right is an actual DMT 10x4 Dia-Sharp. Plate on the left is the plate for this review. Notice the difference in particle size.
