Finally Able to Tidy Up That Drawer
Over the years, I have accumulated too many cables to count. With each new gadget, I get a new cable. I have multiple chargers, adapters, plugs, and cables of various types, lengths, and brands. I use most of them interchangeably, but I can't seem to throw any of them out, even though I may have seven different micro USB cables and five different mini USB cables. Some work with specific electronics, and some don't. I'm constantly trying them all out, since most aren't marked by brand. Up until recently, I've tried to coil them up the best I could and just cram them all into my "extras" drawer or in a container. When I need one, I have to go in there and pull out this bird's nest of cords and start untangling. Then I do it all over again. I've tried holding them together with rubberbands and tape, with varying degrees of success. While browsing through Amazon, I found this product. It was cheap, and came with a lot of ties, so I gave it a shot. I am extremely glad I did. The package includes eight coils of velcro straps. The strips are perforated at the ends, so it's easy to tear off the end tie while keeping the rest in the coil until you're ready to use the next one. Each tie has a little cut out hole at one end so you can loop it around the cable you want to tie up for safekeeping. That way, when you undo the strap and use the cable, the velcro tie stays on the cable and you don't lose it. The velcro type is passive; it's smoother than, say, the velcro you'd find on clothes. That comes in pretty handy as it doesn't attract as much dust or lint, but still provides more than enough hold to keep the cable wrapped up firmly. When I received this product, I immediately went to work securing all the cables that were floating around in my drawer. Everything is so neat and tidy in there now it's remarkable. It's so much easier to pick out which cable I need and pull that one out, instead of pulling out the whole load and untangling what I need. It also freed up a lot of space in that drawer. It makes taking cables on trips a lot more headache free as well, since everything is packed up nice and neat and won't get loose in my purse or luggage. It makes identifying the right cables a lot easier and organizing a lot faster and efficient. I also use it to tidy up the snakepit of cords I have running behind my entertainment center. And since this package contains 100 ties, I have more than enough left over. This product is perfect for my needs and should be on the shopping list of everyone who owns an abundance of electronics and cables.

pennies per tie = highest utility per $ than any other
i've been using these for a couple of decades--i've used many variants made by velcro brand and others--it seems there is no limit humans are willing to go to in order to customize the common problem of managing cables. This fasteners in this pack lack the fancy bells and whistles of other types (some types are thicker, wider, made of stronger material, padded, or color-coded, or even some super fancy ones that are an inch wide with built-in loop on the non-wrapping side of the cable tie to use the loop for hanging your bundled 100 foot long heavy AV microphone cables or whatnot... some of those types have a metal gusseted eye hole on them to hang whatever you've coiled up from a nail or hook in your shed or music room, man cave or shop or whatever And i own many of the "fancy" variants too but i've found that for MOST of my needs, i don't *want* any of those extra features... for instance, if you're using these velcro cable ties on thin wires for example, wired iphone headphones, the last thing i want is an enormous bulky "thing" attached to it--these little thin ones are perfect for such uses. Also they are LONG enough to be able to wrap thick cables with many wraps and that comes in handy but more often than not, i don't need 3 inches of velcro tail wrapping 12 times around the wired ear buds, for example... so i just cut them shorter... simple, easy... any decent pair of scissors works to trim the tie shorter so i'm only wrapping it around the coiled up headset ~3 times... plenty strong enough to keep everything firmly in place and i don't need the hassle of wrapping it around and around and around so many times its a bit silly there are companies that sell a similar product WITHOUT the little loop-fastener manufactured into the "tails" and i don't know why anyone would want those--one can get a razor blade out and 'fabricate' the built-in system these have... but its loads of work.... alternatively even the "fake" velcro products without the fastening slit thingy are made with a velcro-like surface so one CAN just wrap cables with them and go without the loop fastening feature and those hold cables in place perfectly well--the only headache is that unless you fabricate a custom feature to perform this functionality, the cable tie comes off the cable each and every time you unwind it and you've got to make sure you don't lose it, etc so that itty bitty feature and their delicate size and how easy they are to trim makes them my hands-down favorite for everything from headphones to 0 gauge welding wire... i use these things for all kinds of things--they're great!

SUPERB Product - I Couldn't Survive Without It
VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties, Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch, 100 Count (91140) Today we're looking at the "VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties, Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch, 100 Count (91140)" from VELCRO Brand. -------------- Introduction: -------------- When I find a product that does the job well, is easy to use and economical; I STICK WITH IT. Rarely does a product successfully combine all three of the above aspects, but this one CERTAINLY DOES. With four computers, three monitors, three routers and three switches (not to mention home theater audio/video gear), you can imagine the amount of cable clutter I have to deal with. There are several possible solutions, and I have used them in varying combinations, but these VELCRO Cable Ties form the BACKBONE for my cable management regimen. They are TRULY INDISPENSIBLE and I simply count NOT do without them! ----------------------- Manufacturer's Claims: ----------------------- * Take control of computer and electronics cord clutter with easily adjustable, reusable hook & loop ties. >>> >>> Yes, in spades! >>> * Perfect for computer, appliance and electronic cord organization, wire management and storage. >>> >>> Again, YES! >>> * Trusted & used in data & network centers across the globe. Wraps onto itself for secure hold >>> >>> The first part I cannot vouch for, but it seems quite reasonable >>> given that the second part is completely TRUE. >>> * 100 Pack of adjustable, reusable, low profile Black VELCRO Brand Thin Ties >>> >>> This is where the TRUE VALUE enters the picture. These are effective >>> and are an ABSOLUTE BARGAIN for the price. They are billed as light- >>> duty but are strong enough for the vast majority of jobs. >>> * Cut it to length or combine ties to make it the perfect length for any application >>> >>> Yes, you can, but I generally just use one tie and wrap the excess >>> back around itself so that I have an intact tie for re-use later. But >>> for tight spaces, you may want to cut them to a specific length. >>> ------ Pros: ------ * Totally effective! * Inexpensive * A generous quantity for the price * A multitude of uses around the home, shop and office ------ Cons: ------ * Not pre-cut >>> >>> This is really a nit rather than a con, but they come in a package >>> of four (4) rolls. Each roll is a continuous strip of ties that are >>> slightly notched to come apart at a specific point. You must be >>> CAREFUL to grasp the two adjoining ties at the PROPER POINT and >>> pull them apart. This way they will separate cleanly. If you just >>> yank "Willy Nilly" at a random point, you risk pulling the ties >>> apart at the wrong spot and ripping the head off one. >>> * Semi-punched through holes >>> >>> Again, a nit. The through holes where you insert the end of the >>> tie back upon itself are NEARLY completely punched through. You >>> must remove the waste scrap manually, but this is quite a simple >>> task. You just have to remember to throw them away otherwise you >>> have tiny VELCRO rectangles lying all over. >>> Despite these two minuscule nits, I really CANNOT see any way the product could be improved. -------------------- Craftsmanship: -------------------- VERY GOOD given the price and usage paradigm. 5 STARS. ------------------ Effectiveness: ------------------ 100% PERFECTLY EFFECTIVE. 5 STARS. ----------------- Price / Value: ----------------- Stunning bargain! At $0.06 each, you'd be hard pressed to find cheaper ones of comparable quality. 5 STARS. ---------------- Ease of Use: ---------------- Duh! Let's just say, you won't need instructions. If you do, give up and take up knitting instead. 5 STARS. ------------------------------- Conclusions and Rating: ------------------------------- This is my third purchase of the "VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties, Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch, 100 Count (91140)", and I CAN ALWAYS USE MORE as the uses for this product are nearly endless. So today, the "VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties" garner a PERFECT 5 STARS. I only wish I could give them 10! Great job VELCRO Brand and Amazon! Enjoy!

Works well for cable management, but cheaper and flimsier than the colored variant
Compared to the same brand (VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP Cable Ties) of cable ties, I wasn't expecting these to be so different. The yellow is from a multipack of 6 different colors which was great for cable management. I decided to grab a bulk pack of plain black for the myriad of cables I have around the house that don't need to be so diligently color-coded. These black ones are significantly thinner and feel less "fluffy" on the non-Velcro side than the colored ones do. They also rip a little easier — I have managed to accidentally rip apart the loop hole on the colored ones once, from being a bit over-zealous while ripping one of the cable ties off the roll, but I have managed to do so no less than three times with these, and that is with being careful due to my past mistake. The actual "tie" part is sturdy, but the loop unfortunately is really just too thin with these IMO. Maybe I have freak strength and am Hulking my way through cable tie loops, though. Of course, they still adhere great and are still Velcro, so they don't come apart on their own and they are perfect for tying up cords and cables. I use them to tidy up my cable bin and for cable managing my TV, which has only one input and one (audio) output. No need for color-coding for those! These are cheaper than the colored ones, but the exact same length. The colored ones were $12.89 for a 60 pack when I bought them three years ago, so that averages out to $0.21 per cable tie. These are $0.09 per cable tie, a little over twice as cheap, so it makes sense why these are thinner and feel, well, cheaper. For cables that don't need to be color-coded but still need to be tidied and for cables that aren't going to be frequently tied/untied, these seem perfect. Heck, maybe you just don't need/want color-coding. Maybe you'd rather have something that is cheaper and feels more disposable. Maybe you go through cable ties like nobody's business. These are hard to beat at this price if so. But, I do prefer the quality of the slightly more expensive ones and after having managed most of my home with them, it's so hard to recommend these over the colored pack. 4/5 for working as intended but -1 for cheap construction.

I love this stuff! It's perfect for cable organization.
I don't know how many packs I've purchased over the years, but it's got to be close to 10. This is just perfect for cable management. When I was in undergrad, apparently I was already using these, but someone tried to pinch some pennies and cut them. Don't do that. They're cheap enough. It's Velcro brand velcro...err...hook and loop connectors. It's the original and real stuff. It's high quality. It'll also roll over on itself nicely meaning when you have your cable unfurled, then things still stay and look nice. They do make longer versions of this, but the 8" is generally enough for me. You can over extend them and they'll fail. That's not a product defect -- you just need longer ones. Surprisingly, they don't pick up that much hair or debris. So they stay clean pretty much on their own and you won't have this yucky looking fuzz mess at the end. They're a million times better than zip ties due to the reusability factor, although there's still a time and place for them. I don't see these that much out in the wild, so they seem to be a "hidden gem" in the tech world. I hope that changes!

Simple cheap and useful
These work great and as expected, especially indoors. Used them outdoors for short periods of time like at Christmas but can tell they'd wear out fairly quickly if left outside indefinitely.

Great for Cable Management, Flexible Ways to Use, With a Few Drawbacks
These are great for cable management, such as around your computer or entertainment center. They are much better than the alternatives, mainly twist ties and cable zip ties. Twist ties are small, break after reusing a few times, and can pinch into your cable shielding if you crank them down. Cable ties are nice and easy to zip on, but have to be cut off, and sometimes can be risky to use cutters so close to your wires. These are much more flexible. You can always open them and add another wire and are plenty long. I was surprised that the entire length was Velcro, not just the ends, so it easily grips. But it is not your usual Velcro (not like on shoes or bags), it thinner and a felt-like bottom side. But it doesn't seem cheap or too flimsy. They seem very appropriate for cable management. They are plenty reusable, but are meant for occasional re-opening, not something you do daily. It has a eye to slip a smaller end through, but it is entirely optional to use, as the Velcro alone holds well. You can even cut them to any length if you prefer. There are 3 drawbacks. (1) If you have a pile of them, they stick together, unlike twist ties and cable ties. So you have to prepare to use them by setting out some separately. They also stick to themselves. So if you are trying to use them one handed while handing onto wires with the other, it can be more difficult if they start to stick together or to themselves. This will be noticeable, but I think acceptable. (2) It takes sightly more work to remove them from the roll than peeling the next twist tie, but really isn't a problem. (3) If you are using the optional eye hole, upon reuse the narrow strips around the eye hole are a weak point that will wear down faster, but you don't even have to use it and can cut it off. Also it is Velcro around the eye hole so it sticks around the hole too so it doesn't easily slide if it catches. You can't just pull to or loosen. Just picture thin felt-backed Velcro strips. It is hard to expect any more from them if you understand they are just entire strips of a fine Velcro. I like them, but they are not revolutionary. When any cable management solution has some pros and cons, I think these do a great job. The only thing that bothers me at all is that they stick together, but removing that would cause other drawbacks, which I believe is better as it is.

Amazing Buy - Great Quantity - Even Better Price
From the time I first started tinkering in electronics with my father, I distinctively remember fighting with the issues of making wires look neat. Fast forward over 20 years later where I'm a Network Engineer and I still battle the "Wire War" with electronics at home and cabling at my work. Whether it's your office full of computer equipment, printers, scanners, devices, your home theater area with a cable box, TV, video game console, DVD/Bluray player, or your data center where you have hundreds to thousands of cabling to deal with... messy wires are just that: messy. I've tried every solution known to man to try & keep my cables neat, only to find that none of them are permanent/reusable and there always comes a time when you don't have enough. Using the following examples.... * Wire/Twist Ties - Not bad, but length/gauge often becomes an issue when you're dealing with a bigger bundle of cable. Plus they can only be reused so many times until they either break or the plastic "shell" begins to deteriorate after constant use. * Zip Ties - Nice if you don't ever plan on unbundling your wires. Often a pain to remove that requires either scissors/shears or a sharp knife (be careful you don't accidentally slice your hand). * Electrical Tape/Tape - A quick fix when you're in a pinch but the adhesive wears down over time. Electrical tape specifically gets very sticky/tacky and then you have a sticky film on your cables that attracts dirt/dust. * Cable organizers - Allows you to bundle cables together with pieces of molded plastic or via a "trough/tray". The problem with these are that they are bulky and not cheap. "Trough" styles can get up to $25 for a single piece. The only trusted, tried, and true method that is clean, adjustable, and reusable are velcro rolls/ties. Most of my experience is via a velcro roll where the strip is just one long continuous strip. At work we use these to create velcro ties that are length specific. Whether it's just 2 cables or 50, we can cut the strip to fit any size. However for home use, I would go specifically with pre-cut velcro ties, like the one I'm reviewing. Cutting your own velcro can get tedious if the job is big and having pre-cut ties saves time. A bonus to these particular pre-cut ties is that there is a "secure hole" that you can pull the excess into to have a more secure fit. Other nice features are: 1. The ties are rolled up in a bundle so that all you have to do is pull and a tie will come off easily. 2) the strength of the velcro is moderately strong. Velcro's "fastening" strength is dependent on the "hooks" and the "felt". While these are not the strongest I've seen (like on kid's velcro shoes) but it's still pretty good considering the application. Last but not least, the icing on the cake is the fact this item is cheapest on Amazon. This exact item (.5" x 8") is available on Lowe's & Home Depot's site. However Lowe's offers it in a quantity of 50 for $4.47. Home Depot has the same 50pack for $5.27. On Amazon when I bought these, I got them for $6.98. remember, Amazon's is a 100-pack. So to get the same quantity at your local store, you'd have to spend anywhere from $2 to $4 more. Highly recommended!

Exactly what I need to organize my life
Cable ties are a need in my life. I use them for everything: for my laptop power, my cell phone charger, microphone cables, and HDMI cables. Basically any cable in my life that has to be put away and stored needs to have a cable tie attached to it. Recently I need to order new ties. In the past I had just gotten them at music stores but the cost is rather prohibitive. I decided to check Amazon thinking maybe there would be a less expensive solution. I bought these because they were the least expensive for the most quantity. Honestly, I didn't expect them to be very good. It seemed preposterous that 100 of these would cost so little. I expected them to be too short (I have many bundles of cable that are close to 3 inches in diameter) or that the grip on the cable would not be enough. I was surprised when these magnificent things arrived. Not only are they long enough for my largest bundle of cable but the self-gripping grip (velcro!) is sturdy! The straps even come bundled in a way that prevents the grip from getting covered in dust AND makes it easy to get ties when you're trying to organize a bunch of cables. Basically, this is one of the best purchases i've ever made and I will certainly be ordering these again when I use up my current order! To anyone buying these, here's a tip: You can keep cables on your computer desk ordered by using cable ties to attach the cables to your desk or wall. You can use thumb tacks to put through the cable tie for mounting to the wall or desk. If your desk is like mine, there are metal bars that I can actually wrap the cable tie around to securely fasten the cable. No more tangled wires.

Excelente producto!!(
Una maravilla para lo que esperaba(: Los velcros estàn unidos uno tras otro, hay que identificar bien donde comienza & donde termina cada uno para separarlos, cabe mencionar que hay que ejercer bastante fuerza para retirarlos por lo que puede ser que si buscas uno de mayor medida puedes dejarlos unidos & simplemente brincarte al siguiente extremo dejando 2 unidos, es un punto a mencionar mas no lo he intentado porque el velcro es lo suficiente largo para organizar cables bastante gruesos. Una maravilla su presentación en forma de pulsera pues permite simplemente restirar el velcro para ajustar bien lo que se pretende organizar(: Parece que se desgastaran muy fácilmente pero cada que se une como corresponde se fija fuertemente jaja incluso con la zona en la que pasa para ajustar. Muy recomendado espero que les sea de utilidad mi reseña(;
