How can these be vegetarian since they contain ox bile extract from cows? Do the words "vegetarian capsules" relate only to the capsule?

Hi Alice.. Yes, the bottle says vegetarian CAPSULE. No other place on the bottle do I see vegetarian. I'm not a vegetarian so I don't know the boundaries of what exactly is ok to be consumed ... these capsules contain the BILE of an ox. I googled after seeing your question and read about it - very interesting. All I know is no other supplement has helped me like this one has since having my gall bladder removed. It really, really works for me. I'm so thankful I found these.

In reply to Norma about the disgusting ingredient ox bile, this enzyme formula was made FOR people with gall bladder  issues. Bile is the substancel the GB produces to digest fat and protein. Many people who have gallbladder problems produce too little bile  to digest food properly,, and believe me if you have this problem you will know it! And that is why bile salts are added to this formula.
