Expensive(!), drier than expected
Very expensive for the amount 😱 Drier than expected, not super sticky and soft like what I have had from Iran (3 stars for texture). That said, I liked the taste, not as sour as what I have had but tangy (4 stars for flavor). The cost to amount ratio is crazy, I will not buy again (1 star for price). I will learn to make at home, it’s not hard, just time consuming (key ingredients: lemon juice and salt).

Shemshad Lavashak Apricot Snack
This Persian-style apricot fruit layer is a delightful treat. The tangy flavor and chewy texture make it a tasty snack to enjoy on the go. It's been a pleasant surprise, adding a unique fruity twist to my snacking routine.

Why is it black
I remember eating this as a child of middle eastern family and loved it. But it was apricot orange colored. The taste is not the same either. Not bad but not what i was expecting

This is not Persian Lavashak
It is not what I expected. Golchin brand is the traditional lavashak. Products by Shemshad are not my taste. They are almost a 1/4 inch thick and they are in like one inch precut squares that does not taste like traditional Persian Lavashak.

Not much flavor
Ok, not much flavor. Little bit oily but maybe how it is supposed to be. Regular fruit leather has more flavor.

This product really grew on me. Different from other fruit leathers, but in a good way
I think this dried fruit leather is kind of a hit and miss with people. I found myself at first not liking it as it has a saltiness to it that you don’t expect, but after a few bites I really enjoyed it and ate half the roll in one sitting. I let some others in my household try it and it was an immediate and vocal “no!” for them. I think this has a lot to do with your expectations. Growing up in the US my mental image of a fruit leather product from childhood is one that is super, almost sickly, sweet and sticky. This product on the other hand is semi-sweet with a salty finish and not sticky. It really grew on me and I found myself really liking it. I’d take this product over super sweet fruit leather any day!
