very good
You have to be a little bit creative with this on setting it.. But once you can get it tweaked it works great. I caught 2 birds within the first 2 days and about 2 more over the next week. I have never had a false trigger. I place a small piece of bark under the trigger's 3 strings (if you buy it you will know what I am talking about) and I place a mound of bird seed on the bark. Of course placement is huge.. I place it on the bottom of an active bird feeder where the ground gets alot of activity.

Difficult to use and ineffective in deployment
Purchased this to try to catch a pesky robin that has been messing our doors and windows. It takes at least 3 limbs (either 2 people or 1 person using their knee or foot in addition to both hands) to set this trap. The spring, metal, and net seem to be good quality. The trigger mechanism, on the other hand, is absolute junk. It comes loose and snaps my hand almost as often as it actually sets. The instructions are poorly written so it possible that an engineer can make this work. I am not an engineer. The bait is held to the trigger mechanism by a safety pin! In trying to secure a piece of bread as bait, the safety pin pulls through the bread. All-in-all, a waste of money.

This trap works but I would avoid it.
This trap works but not without modification. The spring is way too strong, so it's like setting a gen 1 mousetrap. Seriously you'll be gun-shy really quickly. Also the build quality is just poor attention to detail. It's unpainted so rusty out of the box, the netting is cheap as well as the trigger lines. I modified the trigger to make it more effective and easier to catch lighter weight birds. But ultimately I recommend you spend a little more and get a better trap. You'll be happy you did. CONs Rusty Stiff Spring Flips over unless attached to a board when tripped. Will kill birds if they're in the wrong spot when it triggers. (Happens more than you'd think with multiple birds at once) Recommend this trap instead. For $10 more you'll be a much happier person and actually catch some birds. https://a.co/d/01EPSbWf

It actually works!!!
Despite the sub-par reviews, I had no choice but to give this trap a try. For the past few years robins have been nesting in my neighbor's trees. I have a very small backyard with a few berry bushes and strawberries. And each year they demolish them before they're even ripe. So I decided to try and trap them since my neighbor's houses are too close to use a pellet rifle. First, I should mention that the other reviews are correct about the string for the stick being way too short. Obviously no quality control there. But with a little effort I was able to use fishing line and get it to work. Hence, my deduction of one star. I used strawberries eaten by bugs as bait since that's what the robins were currently going for. I put one on the safety pin and one or two on the ground behind the trigger. Within two days of setting up the trap I caught the baby. At that point I was sure I wouldn't catch any adults, assuming they were too smart for a trap, especially after witnessing what happened to their baby. I took the baby and released him 12 miles up river, hoping he won't come back. A couple days later I set up the trap again, in the evening when the birds hopefully wouldn't see me. To my astonishment, the very next morning I caught an adult robin! I released her in the same location as the baby. I will continue setting up this trap in hopes of relocating the entire family. I am very pleased with this trap, despite the initial fix. The trap itself is very simple, but it works. I definitely think it's worth a try. EDIT 7/8/22: I am still using this trap and it still works great. Last year I trapped four birds. This year, another family of robins made its nest in my neighbor's trees, so it's time to set up the trap again. I neglected the trap and left it out side all winter long. The small piece of wood that holds the stick in place had rotted through and crumbled off the string. I remedied that by cutting a piece of dowel the same length, drilling a small hole through it for the string, and using my little Swiss army knife to cut out a notch. Works perfectly fine! This trap is very easy to fix any issues that are not functional from the factory. Fishing line, new string, and a small piece of dowel. It can be a little finicky to set the trigger, but once it's set it manages to stay in place. Just can't put much weight on the safety pin itself. It's still worth it though. I'm even ordering a second trap, I like this one so much.

Works
No bait. Bluebirds fly into reflection in sun room doors. They fall into trap. I drive them 20 miles away and let go.

Squirrels? Stake it down!!!
Product is perfect, can be a little tricky to set the trigger but it has to be for sensitivity. My suggestion is you have a lot of squirrels in the area, stake it down in case you catch one. I am ordering another because I have no clue where mine is now. Sorry squirrel 🐿️

Needed to be fixed before it could be used the first time and no birds....
The trap that is pictured is not the one I received. On the trap I did get the trigger post is too short to reach any of the holes in the piece sticking up so it is impossible to set right out of the package. I used some stuff from around the house to make it at least usable. I have had it set up and baited for 4 or 5 days. It is in an area where I have another trap set up also. The other trap catches birds almost daily while this one has yet to even be set off. It has strings running across the bottom to act as triggers but they seem to be a deterrent. The strings and the big metal piece that the trigger is supposed to fit into are the only differences between my 2 traps. So one of those 2 things is keeping the birds away from the trap. They are baited the same and set in high traffic areas and my other trap has caught 3 birds while this one hasn't even had the birds try to eat the food. I have no idea what's happening but I wouldn't buy it again. If anything changes and it starts catching birds I will update this review.

Problemas de dimensiones para el gatillo (tuvieron que adaptar un seguro parea funcionar), poco sensible el gatillo y su tamaño probablemente dañaría seriamente a los animales. No recomendable
