Glutose-Lemon 15 Gram Tube, 3 Pack

Great to have in my IFAK for hypoglycemic patients.

My mother gets lows bad enough to have to be taken to the hospital as she is 87 years old. The last time the ambulance came they actually had it on hand and gave it to her and almost instantly she started coming out of it. I had no idea they even had such a thing! I asked the EMT and he gave me the empty tube to show me what to buy. She had to go to the hospital anyway because of other problems but not because of low blood sugar. I couldn't find it at any drug store here or WalMart or Target, I found it on Amazon and this will be the third time I have bought two 3 packs. The last time she had a low I gave it to her and she instantly came out of it and it doesn't make her sick to her stomach like food does. Wonderful product. I recommend to anyone who gets lows from diabetes. I have tried so many things with my mom and this is the best, no competition! It's worth every penny.

Keeps my husband from going to the hospital. This is the same thing the EMT's use for low blood sugar. I have been using this type of product for 30 years. The price is an issue since we go through it quickly sometimes. The price was reasonable. I would purchase it again.

It is hard having low blood sugars. Sometimes it gets so low, that thinking is difficult. These Lemon gel packages work wonderfully. I know they are expensive to make, but for me, they are a bit pricey. I am wanting to try some of the other Gluctose-15 flavours. I will wait however.

I like the lemon flavor and that it is pleasantly less sweet than other glucose gels in tubes, even the grape flavor sold by Paddock. I have not tried those that are available in foil packs. I do not like cherry-flavored "anything!" I have used this gel for the past 1 3-years and it has always been quite effective.

My son gave me one of these for just in case I had to use it. What I like is it works faster than the tablets, even when your sugars are too low to take a pill or even eat peanut butter.

I'm sure clinically this works, but the taste is truly unpalatable. Like lemon scented lotion. Couldn't get patient to consume it. Maybe worth a try if you're buying for someone more compliant, but we'll look elsewhere.

I bought this to include in my Ski Patrol First Aid pack, and it survived the season very well. Packaging survived a season in a back pack as though it was new, which is a bonus when you have to pull it out and administer it to a patient. (Not that they would complain when going into DB Coma, but a dirty scarred up tube of goo doesn't seem to come across as well as a clean and clearly sterile dose of Glucose.) Couldn't tell you whether the lemon flavor is preferable to any other flavor, since this is to bring a patient back into normal range, not satisfy their palette.
