Is a size 8 extra large?

Normally I buy a size 8 and they fit well. But because of the reviews I decided I'd order a size 9. They fit perfectly and I'm a big girl at 240 lb n belly rolls. They dont roll down, they wear well.

are the cuffs around the legs cotton also?

The leg openings are not stretchy at all. They cut into the join of my legs and hips very uncomfortably in the front.

The assorted briefs have "extra plush" printed on the package. Are they actually heavier weight than the solid white or "lace" panties?
