With age, clipping became a real chore: sore joints and muscles and limited time spent clipping. This solves the problem. Pros: lightweight with small battery, good battery life (medium size battery lasts hours clipping), easy to use. Each clip (trigger pull) takes a couple seconds to complete so if you’re into speed clipping this will slow you down. But I like the slower clip as a safety feature. I haven’t done much trimming, but it works fine. The reciprocation speed is slower than corded trimmers, but I’m not into race clipping and gardening is a hobby not a job for me.

I’ve only had this for about two months, but so far it’s worked great and has been WAY better than trimming with shears (like fountain grass, bushes, etc). I had gotten a different brand first on Amazon and it literally fell apart in my hands while I was running it the second time….it was awful plus that’s dangerous. I guess the jiggling of the tool over time can cause issues, but I’d literally had the other for a few days. So far so good on this one!

It’s lightweight, easy to use, and cuts through grass and shrubs efficiently. Battery life is impressive, and it’s a great addition to any garden tool collection.

This is a little brother to the Ryobi string trimmers and the Ryobi hedge trimmers. It is smaller and lighter, making it perfect for detailed trimming or small fall cleanup jobs. I used it to take down about 50 good size hostas for the winter. It worked just as I hoped, cutting the stalks quickly, easily and cleanly. And it's perfect for trimming the tall grass left around fence posts and walls after mowing. While the string trimmer also worked for that, the line tended to tear off the paint at the bottom of the posts. This smaller clipper doesn't do that. The change from the shorter clipper to a small hedge clipper is very easy, and needs no tools. I found the hole each head has, to fit to the motor/handle was a little tight. Chasing the hole in the heads with the proper drill solved that easily. A single fully charged battery lasted as long as I wanted to use it, and the fact that it is part of the Ryobi line means that there are always lots of batteries available. I'n very pleased with this tool.

I bought this for some bushes in the front as well as some vines in the backyard. It handled everything very well. Not exactly sure the suggested use case for the grass trimmer but cutting grass by hand is so much fun. I tried it out and it works well. Just don't know the use case.

I trim my yews once a year, so this was the third time I used my Ryobi hedge trimmers. I had just finished the 3rd bush when the blade stopped working. The rectangular attachment plate had begun to slip off the tool, and there was an open crack in one of the corners closest to the blades. (pic attached) I thin my yews out every spring using hand clippers so I was not going through anything thick. I bought the item on amazon on 8/13/2023. I like this product because the blade is not too long and it is easy for me to use. Unfortunately it didn't last very long.

This is somewhat smaller than typical hedge trimmers, but I'd call that a good thing. In addition to being able to do more detailed work, it's easy to just grab and go. It's more lightweight than a big hedge trimmer, so you can use it longer before your arms get tired. It is surprisingly capable for a small hedge trimmer and could displace a larger hedge trimmer entirely for some people. There is a limit to what these can cut, so it is helpful to have "loppers" (pruner) handy for those larger stems, particularly on larger bushes.
