A brake pipe replacement on a twenty year-old car saw the need for me to make my own pipes as the OEM pipes were long-since defunct. This kit save the car from almost certain scrap. All the tools worked well from the get-go. The entire job took less than thirty hours start to finish and there was still pipe left over. The flaring tool was excellent as was the cutter. Cannot flaw any of it.

Purchased this replace a corroded brake pipe on a Peugeot 107. As mentioned on previous reviews the item does not arrive in the nice case displayed. The pipe cutter, pipe bending and flaring tools feel solid, if a little rudimentary. But most importantly, they work. The pipe cutter would benefit from being a little more compact as at times you’re working in tight spaces under the car. The bending tool takes a little time to figure out but works well. If you’re stuck you can bend the pipe by hand or with pliers. The flaring tool allows for the creation of male and female ends however placing the pipe in the clamp nips the pipe causing 2 small indentations. These dents don’t affect the internal diameter of the pipe however they do highlight the biggest issue with this kit - it’s not copper pipe. The pipe, as other reviews have stated, is steel with a very fine layer of copper over the top. Minor scratches to the pipe from flaring or fitting exposes the steel which will rust quickly on the underside of a car. I’ve purchased silicone tubing to cover the pipe before fitting to the car. Alternatively you could purchase copper-nickel pipe separately. On the whole the kits work. Competitively priced compared to others on Amazon and other retailers. Let down by the piping. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars

This is a good kit to repair brake lines yourself

I bought this kit when my land rover required new brake lines, thought there wasn't much to lose in buying the kit and having a go. Glad I did as it probably paid for it's self making the 1st brake line, let alone the other two I ended up needing. Since then I've used the kit to make up a further two lines and saved another £70 compared to buying premade ones. I'm no expert mechanic but found this relatively simple to use and very cost effective.

The price was good, but the flaring tool was rubbish.

Did the job I needed and got plenty left over. Value for money, easy to use!
