Politicians selling us out...not likely. We're selling ourselves out...buying the cheapest junk the Chinese Communist Party has to offer. Spend a few dollars more and buy MADE IN USA. We can fix this ourselves...the politicians and DC be dammed.

Is the cutting area heat treated for hardness?

It has worked fine for its intended purpose, which is cutting MIG welding wire. I didn't check it with a file to see if it's been hardened and I didn't read anything in the product literature that made a statement about hardening...sorry!

What is the difference between the deluxe and deluxe plus and the standard?

pretty sure its the hammers, file part may be different , the addition of the chain and when comparingbthe two i thought it sounded like the plus was of a harder steel but maybe it was left out by mistske at the time i purchased or i missed it. anyways i have the plus and i like em alot, i use every feature, nearly everyday and i was a bit hesitant to get them at first but now i consider them one of my best recent tool purchases, and the one or two times ive left em at home and had to grab mig pliers from the tool lock up made me never forget them again
