Has anyone found this is different to the Nishiki rice from last year? Thanks

Not especially- however, my Japanese father always said that even within one brand, the rice varies according to season: when the crop has been recently harvested, the taste is sweeter than when it has been stored awhile. Also, be careful: sushi rice is different from ordinary and Nishiki produces both.

has this rice been processed to be no-wash (musenmai)?

In the old days, you had to wash rice to clean it of impurities; nowadays, for this and other good quality rice, the cleaning is only necessary to improve taste and texture. So you can skip the washing but it won’t taste as nice. Doesn’t take more than a minute to wash. Just put raw rice in cooking pot and run cold water over while tilting and holding edge of your hand over lower edge of pot to let water flow out, keep rice in. Do this until water runs clearish.
