Nachdem ich Six of Crows geschenkt bekommen hatte, absolut nicht in die Story fand und es nach 2 Versuchen dann aufgegeben hatte, hatte ich das Grishaverse für mich bereits abgeschrieben. Seitdem sind ein paar Jahre ins Land gegangen. Nun muss ich gestehen, war ich von der Fernsehserie hellauf begeistert und dachte, mit diesem Zugang könnte ich mich nochmals an die Bücher wagen und da ich manchmal ein kleiner Monk bin, habe ich mich entschieden, die Trilogie zuerst zu lesen. Das war auch richtig so. Ich habe die Bücher verschlungen wie schon lange kein Werk mehr. Der Schreibstil ist flüssig und sehr gut zu lesen, die Charaktere hervorragend porträtiert, Umgebungen usw. nicht übermäßig lang beschrieben, sondern aufs Wesentliche konzentriert. Ich weiß nicht, weshalb ich damals nicht in Six of Crows "reinkam", aber die Shadow and Bone Trilogie ist absolut empfehlenswert! Einfach großartig! Ich hatte wohl außerdem das Glück, dass meine Ausgaben keine Fehler, Knicke oder ähnliches hatten. Bei mir sah alles nagelneu und einwandfrei aus. Fazit: Absolut empfehlenswerte Bücher, wenn man auf Young Adult Romane steht und die Ausgabe sieht auch schön aus. Ich hoffe, dass sie außerdem in der hübschen Collectors Edition erscheinen und es diesbezüglich nicht nur bei Band 1 bleibt.

Ok one of the interviews at the end lf the books, the author says that a good book for her is the one that transports you inside its world and you find yourself thinking about it long after you finish reading them. That's exactly what happened to me. After months of having read it, I still live in that world. Definitely a great saga

Order hard cover books if you don't want to see the shiny cover ruined! On the spine are perfect bends as to where I have been putting pressure to read the pages. They looked so clean and pretty! Now they look over used, also I might have bent one to far and it might be on the verge of letting go of the papers. However!!! The books are amazing! I turned to these because I loved the netflix show and yes they start somewhat the same but end waaaay different! I have cried, read the entire night, held my breath and more! Lots of use of polish/russian terms and a little bit afrikaans/dutch for a different part of the world. The other two languages I am uncertain but I think derived from Asian and Scandinavian. The Second book was the toughest to get through in my opinion, however once the big action chapters arrived I would not let go!
