Marshall Code 25 - Simply Great
Marshall is one of the great names in guitar amplification and has been since the 1960's. (Think Jimi Hendrix.) Here is a small - but plenty loud! - solid state amp that can mimic the sounds of not only various Marshalls but other makes of amps by digitally manipulating the signal. Want a clean "Fender-ish" sound? It's got it. Want a Bluesbreaker tone? It's got it. Want raw, searing metal sound? It's got it. There are 100 presets built in, ranging from light/ethereal to wild distortion. And the best part is that each of the presets is able to be edited: power amp, cabinet, effects, pedals, etc. And you can do it from your smart phone by linking the amp via Bluetooth. (I have found it's helpful to go into my iPhone's Bluetooth settings when I turn off the amp and tap Forget This Device each time. It helps linking to it the next time you fire it up.) In addition, there are output jacks for your phone so you can play along with songs loaded on it and also for headphones. I use this feature a lot so I don't wake up the neighbors ... three miles away. All in all, an excellent, well-designed and engineered product.that gives a guitarist a wide range of options at a very affordable price. I highly recommend it for the hobbyist and even for playing small venue gigs.

Astounding features, sound and value
Astounding all around. Most any amp and speaker configuration you'd want combined with pretty much every standard effect/pedal. The smartphone app to control means you can control parameters remotely and don't have to bend down to switch knobs. The usb direct-in for recording combined with the tiny size make this the perfect versatile amp for a basement home studio. It's also pretty loud if you want it to be, but great as a practice amp as well. Did I mention that some of the sounds are truly spectacular? Especially the JCM800 sounds when combined with a Les Paul. I'd easily pay double what I did for this, just don't let Marshall know that ;) I've owned several amps over the years, including a JCM800 half-stack, a Blues Deluxe, an AC15, a orIginal VOX Valvetronix modeling amp, and more recently a Fender Champ XD as a practice/recording amp. Considering this was the same price as the Champ, there's no contest. And it holds its own next to my AC15 and blows away the Valvetronix. I'm truly amazed at what Marshall has done with this one. I bought it looking for something I could easily integrate with Ableton Live for simple and quiet home recording, but now I'm considering the Code half stack for a live rig. This is the kind of product that comes around once a decade. Marshall knocked it out of the park on this one!

Great amp
My 1st "real" amp was a Marshall JCM 900 Model 2100 100 watt head and 1960 4X12 cab I got new back in 1992. I played that amp for years and it was great. But I also wanted something smaller to use in a bedroom/smaller area. By this time I had another all tube amp- a 125 watt Bugera 2x12 combo, and while it was also a good amp it was just way too loud for bedroom use. So I decided on this Marshall CODE. At 25 watts it's still plenty loud enough and for anyone with any experience you can get any sound you want out of it. Plenty of effects to choose from, presets are easy to tweak or make your own from scratch. The cost of the footswitch that goes with this amp (sold separately) is a little on the steep side IMO but I'm 100% satisfied with this amp.

Great amp, bad app compatibility, ok manual controls without the app
Excellent amp!! Comes with 100 effects and it looks rad. The app is pretty garbage. It's nice to be able to connect to my amp but the tuner is s***ty and innacurate, the preset names don't load until you click on them. It's easier to browse the preset effects manually on the amp. UPDATE: I ended up selling this amp relatively quickly after I wrote this review. I really only used a couple of presets and switching between them was a hassle on the manual twist knob on the amp, occasionally I would pass the right one. Many of the presets start with the same word so it's easy to pass the the one you're looking for. Then you have to wait a moment for the full name of the preset to scroll by on the tiny screen.

Happy with my CODE 25!
I bought this amp in 2016. For the money, this amp packs a lot of capability. I am just a hobbiest and I don't play out. It's great for home use. I wasn't super-happy with the tone, so I upgraded the stock speaker to a Celestion Greenback (10"). This was $80 well sent and still makes the whole unit a great value. Tube amps are obviously better, but I love being able to tweak the tone with my ipad or iphone (or the top console). Lots of patches out there to download from other folks too. It's not a pro-amp, but I'm not a pro, so I feel like it serves the purpose as intended. As a side note, I also wired in a 1/4 mono plug that has internal switching to allow me to use the amp as a cabinet. I am currently using a Randall Diavlo RD-1H cab with it and it sounds great to heavier tones.

Provides excellent models of many classic Marshall amps.
Great little amp. The models are very good. You can really hear the personality of the different Marshall amps. They did a great job with this. While nothing can substitute for a full stack, who has a space where it is possible to play it? This amp is a great “Plan B.”
