I bought this kit because I had never done polygel and wanted to have everything I would need to try it out, but didn't want to make a big investment in case it wasn't for me. I also heard that Modelones was a good brand and that their polygel was relatively easy to work with. I also wanted the straight molds not the curved ones and this kit comes with both. I was not disappointed! The kit came with what I would describe as a sample size of everything along with the UV/LED lamp which folds up to be very compact. The process was time consuming but it really wasn't difficult and I think after a few tries I will get the hang of it. The only small issue I had was that the instructions said to do a base coat and dry it under the lamp and i must have had my hand under the lamp for 5 minutes and it just wouldn't dry. However, the polygel itself set in a minute and a half. If you are wanted to just experiment and see if this is something you are interested in doing I think this is a great kit. Five stars from me!

I'm going to start with the cons when using this product: -If you do not research how to use Poly Nail Gel, you will have a horrible time with this product, and leave bad reviews for not doing so. -Steady hand required. -not as quick and straightforward as applying false nails. -Time-consuming, you will need some time to do these. Now with that out of the way! here are the pros: -Allows for a lot of creativity and is a great start to learning about acrylic and the use of forms. -everything you need to start practicing is in this kit and comes with great instructions if all you intend to do is extend your nail. -The light works incredibly well and you will feel it as it is curing it's weird but interesting. -The slip solution is also great for making the nail less sticky after curing which allowed for a smoother nail file and clean-up experience. -Less is more! you do not need a whole lot of gel to create a durable nail, which means the kit has multiple uses. I'm guessing around 5 to 6 for someone just starting. -Easy to file and clean up, so if your edges look like trash for your nail tips, it's easy to file them down and form them the way you want. I attached a picture of my pointed finger that I did after practicing and watching a couple of youtube videos on some helpful tips and tricks.

It was a good kit but hard to use for beginners. My sister struggled with this kit

This was my first time using poly gel. I used to use acrylic, but I was never good at building the nail. This is so much easier to use and the smell is nowhere near as bad. Filing and shaping will come with time, but this is really simple and easy to use. My only complaint is that the recommendation of 30-60 seconds under the UV Light is not long enough. I’d go for maybe 2-3 minutes instead to get completely dried. I have one regret and that is not having an electric nail file on hand. The gel tends to build up underneath and a drill is needed to file it down. This took me about three hours to do, so you’ll need to set a side a good bit of time to get them done. Otherwise, this is an amazing product and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to buy it.

I actually liked the products that were included in the kit. The poly gel is a little sticky but the slip solution helped decrease the stickiness. I recommend getting the clear clips so that the nail form stays on as you are applying the slip solution underneath the nail form (spreading out the poly gel) and cleaning around the edges the excess gel that spilled out. My nail form kept coming off so I had to use another finger to hold it in place. Once I put my nail under the UV lamp, it cured quickly. It’s recommended to cure for 30-60 seconds but the lamp is only 6W so I did about 2-3 minutes for the top and underneath the nail. Additionally, I bought a nail drill to help remove excess gel that cured on my cuticles and clean up the thickness underneath the nail as well as to assist with removing the gel. The process is time consuming but for this being my first time, it’s worth it… Plus I don’t file down my natural nail beds like the nail salons do. I always hated that because my natural nails will have dents and they take months to grow out. I’ve only completed my left hand and I only wanted to use the clear poly gel to provide an overlay on my natural nails due to the large amounts of yard work I do. I plan to complete my right hand within the next day or so. The clear gel that comes in the kit is small so I’ve already ordered more clear poly gel from this seller (bigger tubes) and I’ve ordered the clips to help keep the nail forms in place. Once I master the clear gel, I may move on to different colors. I would recommend this product and I may end up purchasing a higher wattage UV lamp to quicken the process. The reviews for this were pretty good so I’m glad I chose this seller.

This seems so easy to use based on videos and reviews. It was terrible. I followed the instructions perfectly and it did not work well at all. The tips are weird sizes, the slip solution doesn’t work well, the gel is hard to use and it makes such a huge mess. Not very happy with this product at all. I will try again and see if it gets any better but overall not impressed. Update: tried a second time and it was even worse. The gel is so hard you can’t even properly squeeze it out. I’m not impressed at all. Don’t buy this.
