The Tarot of the Spirit is a companion book to the tarot deck painted by Joyce Eakins and is meant to pick up where other tarots leave off. It is here to aid serious students on the esoteric path of the Western Mysteries. Its reason for being is to provide assistance for inner awakening and continued spiritual practice. Centered on the Qabbalistic Tree of Life, this symbolism clearly explores the Minor Arcana as a representation of the four components of life: spirit, emotion, intellect, and body while it reveals the Major Arcana to be the keys to our emotional response patterns to the symbolic universe in which we live. Includes seven monthly meditations, individual readings, and layouts. Every concept presented in the book is essential in its context. Nothing has been reduced, neither has it been convoluted. Every effort has been made to keep the interpretations clearly understandable. Both this book and the deck are meant to be referred to again and again. As the knowledge of the student deepens, the texts will take on greater meaning. Review: extremely helpful in understanding the elemental energies of tarot, esp. the minor arcana. - Thank you Pamela for writing such a helpful guide to tarot. i recommend this to anyone who wants to learn the pip cards deeper. I esp. appreciate how this author is helping me understand how the different suits relate to the different elemental energies, Earth, Air, Water and Fire. This is brings healing depth into my own understanding of tarot and getting so much insight into the healing aspect of Tarot. Wonderful book esp. for those wanting to learn more about the suit cards in tarot. Is ironic to me that most books, teachers focus on the major arcana and barely touch the pip cards. This book is bringing the minor arcana alive for me. I have not gotten to the major arcana yet. This is deep book, takes about a year to go through it, but is wonderful guide. does not need to be used with her deck. This is deep training that can be applied to any tarot deck. Review: such a great system - If you're familiar with the Rider Waite Smith system and you feel yourself wanting "more", this is absolutely the system/book you should get. I learned RWS the past year and kept finding myself feeling like there was more to the cards than I felt all the RWS material (tons of books included) was providing, so I started looking into alternative systems that had a lot in common with RWS and I could glide into with the knowledge I had, but also offered a deeper view of the archetypes in the cards and the symbolism in the art. This book was exactly what I was hoping to find. It's easily graspable and readable, and while it *is* on the esoteric side (lots of Kabbalah and Tree of Life references, which I find fascinating), there is a lot of self-development and psychological aspects to the cards which are great if you are interested in the cards using a more psychological approach. I now have this book, and the other books in the series, on both Kindle *and* in hard copy- a set of my reference shelf and on my Kindle so when I'm working on research (i'm doing a independent study/project of Tarot looking at alternative and psychological approaches to the cards) I have the information at my fingertips. And, big confession- I don't even have the actual Tarot of the Spirit deck. I use this book alongside a bunch of other decks, most notably Margerete Petersen, Jonsasa Jaus, Dreaming Way, and even Sasaraubito. It works with most decks. I highly recommend this book if you're looking for something a little bit "more" than the traditional RWS history and interpretations.

Beautifully Brilliant
Pamela Eakins is an authentic, fully-human philosopher, with a genuine love forn and desire to help her fellow sojourners on this planet and in this time. She has moved Tarot out of the traditional confines, into a higher transcendental realm. Her book, while high-minded, is very accessible, and the ideas and concepts she presents are easily comprehended. I lost this book & deck, as well as many others, in a "water disaster" - and am so glad they are available to replace. I confidentially recommend the book and cards, especially for those who have a love for deeply-investigating the magnificent beauty of the "inside" of reality and our conscious awareness and participation in its unfolding.

Tarot of the Spirit.
Excellent book on the journey of the tarot and tying in of the Kabbalah, there is a lot of information to cover in this book, that give a complete and through explanation on each card, the planetary association and sephiroth it's connected to, very detailed but relatable. If you desire to go deeper with the tarot, this is the book for you.

A Must read for any Tarot Enthusiast.
Pamela Eakins book gives a thick description of each of the cards in her "Tarot of the Spirit," in much the same way that Crowley's "Book of Thoth" offers a thick description of each of the Atus composed by Lady Freida Harris. And like the "Book of Thoth", the "Tarot of the Spirit" book not only enlightens us to Eakins's own Tarot, but is so comprehensive, that I believe it to be suitable to understanding the basic Tarot concepts in general. In that sense, it not only enriches one's understanding of her deck, but of any deck one might find. It's a great book and a good read.

Tools from a Master
Pamela Eakins is a master…her TarotOfTheSpirit book and tarot cards are the best. Meaningful, relevant, great symbolism — off the charts amazing and heartfelt; each card was originally hand painted by her mother. She was born a master; and then studied for years in multiple venues and areas of focus adding to what was already born within her.

Written for wemon
I am an old man. My point of view was constantly in conflict which made it very hard for me to proceed. The book and deck go together. Although I only got through the first two fire (wands) cards I learned a huge amount. I highly recommend the set for any one who is a student of Tarot or Kaballa et. al.
