This was an easy to install product that let me run my PC at the full 2.5gb/s I'm paying for. Keep in mind, speeds depend on Ethernet wire rating AND your Ethernet splitter rating (if you're using one). I've had mine for about a year now and it still works great and fits well.

I’ve paid for multi gigabit (2.5g) upload and download speeds for years, but never got around to actually equipping my PC with it. Now that I have, downloading 100Gb games in under 10 minutes is still incredible to me. It’s crazy how fast traffic comes and goes through my PC now.

Purchased this NIC and it arrived the same day! Absolutely outstanding. The install was so simple it left me wondering why other products aren’t as simple. Windows 11 immediately recognized the card as a 2.5GbE device and started negotiating a connection. Within a minute or so I was surfing the web and stabling my onboard NIC. This is perfect for quickly moving files are a fast local network (either home or small business) and getting a little bit more punch out of any networked storage solution. Is it the answer if you’re looking to work with massive video files or a huge batch of photos? No, Not in a live scenario, anyway. For that you’d want to bump up to a 10GbE device. All of the new motherboards are coming with at least a single 2.5GbE connection now as they are so cheap, as I is evidenced by this unit, and ‘multi-gig’ is a term that is going to gradually start creeping into our internet vernacular soon as well. Get prepared and bring your old grandma board into the modern era! Disclosure: you will need to have a device on the other end of your magical-internet-machine cable that is also meant to handle speeds of at least 2.5Gb/s as well, otherwise this card’s speed won’t pay off.

I've been using this card for quite a while before writing this review and I can say for the cost, this card is worth it. I get a full 2.5Gbit when connected to a 10G network and the card has no problem with flaking out, dropping packets or getting squirrelly even over transfer that take sever days. The card keeps outputting like it's supposed to even under full load for extended periods of time. One thing I will note is that it runs extremely hot, so just make sure you have good airflow over the surface of the card and it will be fine. I am sure if you didn't have good movement of air you might run into a problem where the card overheats, but I never had this issue personally because I just made sure it wasn't crammed right up against another card and there was no problem! Ayant un ancien PC que je voulais upgrader j'ai installé cette carte sur le port PCIEx16 libre de ma carte mère. Sur le port PCIEx1 cette carte ne pourra pas donner tout son potentiel. Temps d'installation 5mn, il suffit de la clipser dans le PCIE de la carte mère. Au moment du boot du PC vous aurez un message "Realtek PCIe 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Boot Agent Press Shift F10" Cela permet d'accéder à quelques réglages de la carte, mais c'est très sommaire. En fait rien à changer sauf peut-être le temps d'affichage de ce message. Autant sous windows11 que linux (ubuntu) aucun driver à installer. La carte est immédiatement détectée et se connecte en 2.5Gb sous réserve d'avoir une box avec un port ethernet 2.5Gb. Sinon elle se synchronisera en 1Gb ou 100 Mb selon ce que propose votre abonnement internet. Les tests de débit faits sous Win11 montrent que j'atteins bien 2Gb (le max que peut donner ma box internet). Tests réalisés avec l'application speedtest téléchargée sur le store. Sous windows/linux pour être sûr d'avoir les derniers drivers il faut aller sur le site de Realtek, récupérer le driver en cherchant Realtek PCIe FE / GBE / 2.5G / Gaming Ethernet Family Controller Software. Au final une bonne carte qui permet d'upgrader son PC très facilement et de profiter des débits de sa box.
