It's definitely a typo. Metatron is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible or Torah so I don't know why people are saying it goes back to Biblical times. Metatron in Greek is Μητάτωρ

Metatron represents Enoc and as far as I know has nothing yo do with Azrael that represent the angel of dead.
