Perfect Porta-Booth Pro® Partmer
As the creator of the The Porta-Booth Pro - Your Recording Studio At Home and on the Road and the original Porta-Booth - Portable Sound Studio I searched everywhere for a device like this. When you want to use a Porta-Booth product standing up and mounted on a microphone boom arm you need a "drop pipe" device to hang your microphone from. Other products I found were ridiculously expensive but this 'mini-boom arm' is the perfect size and the perfect price. On-Stage Stands makes this screw-on model and a clamp=on version (which a has a bit more flexibility) and both are solid, stable, easily installed and adjusted and just perfect for my application and many other times when you need a simple way of attaching a microphone to a mic stand, I recommend this highly!

It Works! It Really Works!
So, I had this crazy idea that I could build a portable isolation microphone station with a music stand attached. After a lot of shopping here on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to try using a Stagg MUS-ARM 1 Small Music Stand, an On-Stage MSA9502 Posi-Lok Mini Microphone Boom Arm, a Rockville Recording Studio Microphone Isolation Shield + Heavy Duty Tripod Stand, and a CAMVATE Ultraclamp with 5/8"-27 thread for microphones (Model #8541754602), I put them all together (along with an Anwenk Rubber Pads Rubber Washers with 1/4" Screw Hole for adjustment purposes) and IT WORKED! I actually built a portable isolation microphone station with a music stand! The clamp that came with the Stagg music stand would only fit around a regular microphone pole. But, I needed something that could fit around that heavy duty Rockville Tripod. The Cavamate clamp did the trick. However, now I needed to be able to connect the Stagg music stand to the Cavamate clamp. That's where the On-Stage boom arm came in! These items came together perfectly to form the configuration that I was looking to build. Well... almost perfectly. The threading on the boom arm when I connected it to the clamp ended with the boom arm about 45 degrees off of the direction I needed it to be in for the music stand to correctly oriented. So, I found the Anwenk Rubber Pads Rubber Washers and I only needed one to give me just the right amount of adjustment to get the orientation right! And it WORKS! It's strong, and sturdy. The tripod can hold all that weight without tipping over. It's GREAT!

Decent and does what I need it too.
I bought a condenser mic with a shock mount and needed a boom to add on my mic stand which is the basic cheap weighted mic stand. I can get enough rotational flexibility out of it to make it useful but at some point it overcomes the the stand and tips it over. I was going to run 2 mics up to it but I think that it wont be able to hold up. If your looking for a boom to accommodate a condenser mic on the cheap then this is a good boom. the lack of a counter weight means you need to come up with your own solution should you need it. otherwise it's good stuff.

If you want to hang your Aston Halo upside down, this is what you need.
Perfect solution for hanging my Aston Halo reflection filter upside down. I do voice over, and I believe the Aston Halo is one of the best reflection filters in the market to give a semi treated room that extra oomph of professional sounding audio. Problem is the Halo is huge and if you cannot hang it upside-down, you will never be able to use it or read your copy. I actually found a way to hang it upside-down without the boom arm, but that caused the mic pole to be in front of the Halo, instead of behind. That of course, caused the tiniest bit of metal reflection sounds, even with scarves wrapped around the pole. The next solution was to buy a completely new mic stand that I had seen on Youtube that successfully hung the Halo—the Ultimate Support MC-125. Except that is $199! Anyway, this was the perfect $14 solution instead (since I already have a mic stand and boom arm), and my recordings sound perfect. It holds the weight no problem, is easy to loosen and tighten, and is very secure. Remember, you need a boom arm first on your mic stand, and then attach this to the boom arm so it hangs down.

Better than long boom arms
I like these short boom arms much better than long ones. The teeth positively lock the angle where you set it. They are very sturdy and fit regular mic stands without an adapter.

Perfect for vocals in home studio
This is a tough unit, easy to set and locks tight. The materials are robust. In a home studio there is never a lot of room and I didn't want a big boom hanging off the other side of my mic stand. This fit the bill perfectly. On the package there is an illustration of this being used at the end of a long boom to hang a mic in the perfect possition, and yeah, one could totally do that with this. This is a simple device and no corners were cut in its manufacture.

NOT 15"
OnStage Posi-Lok Mini Microphone Boom Arm, Black 15 x 3 x 5 inches This boom is 7", not 15" as in the top description. Be warned. other than that, it's OK. Just half the length I thought it would be.

Surpassed my expectations! Amazing quality!
Can’t go wrong with this price!! Amazing quality and sturdiness, it has a teeth locking system that is really well built and holds in place perfectly. Used for mounting heavy condenser mic’s upside down in my studio and works like a charm!

Just as described, works well
Confirming that this uses industry standard thread size. It screwed onto my Samson mic base and my Blue condensor mic screwed on to this boom arm nicely. The teeth based arm angle mechanism is fine for set and forget, but if you're running a studio and changing the arm angle regularly I suggest finding a different brand that doesn't use the locking teeth method (used on typical cheap keyboard x stands). Suggestion: when adjusting the teeth-based boom arm angle mechanism, squeeze the teeth together with one hand while screwing the clasp with the other. That will prevent you accidentally ruining the teeth through screw force.
