2010 Traverse 3.6L timing chain
The Traverse threw a POO17 code amongst several others. The timing chain was making a whining sound and upon further inspection, it was extremely loose. Purchased this Cloyes based on recommendation. The overall job was intense but was fortunate to have the time, tools, and warm garage to get it done. Install was performed with engine one. Their video was extremely helpful. I purchased this and installed in September, 2018. It’s still running great (better than it had in years) over a year later. Fuel mileage is up almost 1.5 mpg since the replacement. Make sure you get the Felpro gasket kits and a good engine assembly lube. Take your time if you do it yourself. Save yourself a lot of money and learn something new. Highly recommended.

Recommended by many mechanics.
First, I love Amazon Prime. If you're reading this review, I advise you to replace the phasor sprockets. don't take the cheap way out like many people try. Got this kit expecting to do a full timing chain replacement. I got the phasor sprockets separately. Many long time mechanic owners of the vehicles it fits recommend Cloyes brand. When I opened the vehicle it already had brand new timing chains and tensioners just recently installed. They were also Cloyes so I didn't need to use this brand new set. I love Amazon Prime because they let me to returns for full refund even though it wasn't their fault. My 2012 Traverse had the dreaded "clatter" for a few seconds when it started. In doing the work I discovered the previous owner had saved money by NOT replacing the phasor sprockets, one of which had failed. When I replaced them no more clatter and its working great now.

New chain snapped in less than 5,000 miles
Well I thought I was completely satisfied with the timing chain set I got. It was about six months ago when my check engine light came on and I started getting codes related to the timing. I started doing my homework and learned how incredibly common this timing chain stretch issue is with the GM 3.6 high feature. Our 2011 Buick Enclave had about 160,000 miles but is still in great shape and I decided to go ahead and tack the job. However it didn't make sense for me to have a shop do it for $5,000 but I was willing to go ahead for $1,800 in parts and I would be changing everything timing related and the shop quote didn't even enclude phasers. They said they wouldn't know untill they tore into it. So I tackeled the job this past summer, got it all back together, the check engine codes cleared themself immediately, I was thrilled! I ran the car thru our emissions and as expected it passed. We drove the car all summer everyday and to at least a half a dozen of my daughters softball tournments all averaging 1.5 - 2 hours from home. The car drove great, had noticeably more power than before the repair and no check engine codes. All was good until about a month ago. I was driving with my wife nice and easy about 35 mph not even accelerating when I heard a horrible snap and then the car slammed off and all kinds of dash lights started flashing, I feared the worst. I had just had shoulder surgery two days earlier for a torn rotator cuff so I knew digging into this was going to be on the backburner. My wife, son and I made due with one less vehicle rotating between the three of us needed. I did email Cloyes directly and tried to contact thru Amazon the day it happened, explaining the whole story and I've heard nothing back. In all fairness I was only speculating. Well today I removed the engine again and I my fears were confirmed, their product failed, the chain snapped, and should be covered under warranty. As for all my labor to do this large job twice I doubt they will take any responsibility for that. I will update this review as this situation develops...

Don’t use chain sprockets. There’s another kit without them.
Used all parts except chain sprockets due to bad reviews of them failing. One guide was broken so had to order that from dealer. Guides themselves looked a little cheaply made compared to gm comparable parts.

Take your time!
Please read this if you are a DIYer like myself! Ok, BEFORE you pull the chains, you need to make sure your crank marks line up AND the cam marks line up. I was 180 degrees out, and didn’t realize it until i was already in it. My cam slipped, i ended up having to rotate the crank, a full rotation, while checking piston height thru spark plug hole with a screwdriver and manually rotating the cams (piston up, move cam lobe so spring is not compressed). It sucked, and i was nervous as heck. I got it back together, and all the timing marks lined up good. Use the cloyes video for reference, and make sure you know how to reset the tensioner. A few bad reviews on here about the idler sprocket makes me a bit nervous, but we will see how it goes. Maybe these other reviewers didn’t torque them properly or something. Take your time, and GL. Also, order the cam lock tools, you can find it on Amazon. Haynes manual online has great pictures showing you the cam positions with the tool installed for both banks. Really helps as well. Good luck! Edit*** Update: March 2022 My Acadia is still going strong! No issues, runs great.

Installed this in my wife's 2010 Equinox 3.0 with the engine still in the vehicle. Installing the chains was fairly easy once everything was opened up and cleaned but be careful that the timing marks end up on the right teeth. I found that it took a little effort moving the sprocket, crank, and actuators small amount to get the sprocket mark on the right teeth. Was not easy to see through the hole in the bank 2 sprocket to check, did lots of double checking to make sure everything was good before resealing the cover. The hardest part was torquing the harmonic balancer bolt to specification. Had to buy an installer tool to remount it then the spec says torque to 74 ft/lb and another 150 degrees. I put a wrenches on the cams to stop the crank from rotating while using a torque wrench for the 74 ft/lb but I do not recommend doing that for the extra 150 degrees, too much tension on the bran new chains that way. I ended up using an impact wrench and could barely get it to turn enough even with one rated for 450 ft/lb. Used permatex ultra black for the chain cover seal, worked well but be careful as there in a lot of area to seal.

Arrived fast, looks like everything is in the package but it seemed odd to me that they slapped a shipping label on and sent it without taping the box shut. Something could easily be lost, and for a product worth over $400 I would expect a bit more careful packaging. UPDATE - everything was there and fit perfectly. Seems to be better quality than OEM. WORKS GREAT!!
