My 9-month old LOVES these blocks
I paid full retail for these blocks & still feel it was money well spent. My baby girl was only mildly interested at first (6 or 7 months old) but like with all toys, I don't give up right away. I've noticed that a lot of toys just need to be introduced at the right time. (And keep in mind that all kids are different, so yours may like these sooner or later than mine did....or not at all.). My husband and I will start stacking these blocks and she can't wait to crawl across the play area to them to knock them down! Sometimes one of us has to hold her back to give the other one a chance to build something! She also likes the blocks individually (but more so when we stack them). Every block has different colors on each side, a peek-a-boo window or door on one side, a "neighborhood" scene on another, corduroy texture on another side, and one of three "sound features" (it either crinkles to the touch, rattles when you shake, or jingles when you shake). I appreciate that the "neighborhood scenes" and pictures include a nice variety of people...different ages, races, and occupation. I want my child growing up with an open mind. I think the texture and firmness of these blocks are just perfect... They are soft enough so I don't worry about her getting hurt if she falls on them when knocking them down, but they're firm enough to keep their shape for stacking, even after she sits on them and tramples them. I love these blocks so much, I came back to Amazon to buy a second set. Very excited to find a seller that has them for 50% off the full retail!

All babies should have these!
I have purchased these ‘smart baby blocks’ as we call them for every baby born to my friends and family! They are great for tummy-time motivation for baby to lift their head and look at, they provide a great safe option for older siblings to play with and around little babies, they can be thrown and mouthed without concern. They are colorful, durable and fun! Our set has lasted through multiple kiddos, is now six years old and still as wonderful as when they were new! Our favorite is to pair them with Melisa and Doug soft vehicles to make them a little more versatile and have more staying power with the older siblings while baby is having floor time!

great for 4 month old and up
We got these for my 4 (almost 5) month old to give him an activity that he can practice sitting up with (with my assistance). He LOVES these. At first, I just let him mouth on them and let them make noises (some crinkle, some have a bell, and some rattle). Then we played peekaboo with the characters on the block (each block has doors or windows to open and discover a person - there is also a clear window like you'd find on a boat that my son loves!). Over the past few days, I have been sitting him in my lap while I stack the blocks on top of each other so he can knock them down. He thinks it is hysterical and cannot stop laughing. It is seriously the cutest thing ever. I wish I had known about these earlier - I might have introduced the high contrast (black and white) toys to him before he could see colors as well. Now they just act as roofs (still fun, but not really as educational). I would HIGHLY recommend these to friends and may even get them as gifts for some of my baby friends! I love that these are fun AND are teaching him about cause and effect with the sounds AND are developing his understanding of object permanence! GREAT toy.

Couldn't be happier with this product!
After considering several types of soft blocks for babies, I went with these and am so glad that I did. They are fantastic for joint play with my 6-month-old and he is fascinated with the different textures, sounds, and peek-a-boo windows on the colored blocks. I recommend these blocks because: 1) You get more blocks (16) for your money compared to other brands. 2) They are well sewn and the fabrics seem sturdy (and surface washable). 3) They are actually stackable. 4) Each of the 8 colored blocks have different textured fabrics on each side, windows you can open, and pleasant sounds (bells, crinkles, rattles). 5) Multi-racial characters on them.

Hours of entertainment!
Our daughter was almost 6 months old when we introduced these. The bright colors of the cubes and the black and white contrast of the triangles hold her attention for long spans of time. The blocks also make different noises (crinkle, rattle, bell, etc.) and have different flaps and characters on them to offer her variety in her exploration. A couple also have silky tags, which seem to be her favorite part of any toy. They are also a good size for her little hands to be able to grasp and hold and turn around. Another great product from IQ Baby! (Oh, and all the IQ baby items we have came in sturdy, plastic, re-usable, zippered bags that are great for storage!)

Love the idea, wish my baby did too!
I bought these last year as a Christmas present for my 3 month old. She is now 15 months and I don't think I have ever seen her play with them more once or twice. I tried to show her how they can be stacked and knocked down etc, and she was maybe interested for a minute but then went on to play with other things. Right now they are sitting in her toybox and I am wondering if maybe I should pack them up and see if I can trade them in for something else she would actually use. I thought they were cute though. I guess they just aren't my baby's thing.

Oustanding
Outstanding. For blocks these are pretty cool. Blocks are soft with different types of fabrics and textures and colors. Each square block makes either a rattle or crinkle noise and has a movable door or window on one side and a picture of people working on the other. The triangle "roof" blocks have black and white patterns on them which is a common/popular motif and the contrast keeps the kids attention. Blocks allow kids to build and destroy without actually breaking anything down and it is impossible to get injured by these things. Just buy them already.

These are great for newborns.
I bought a set of these way back in September 2011 for my first granddaughter when she was 10 months old. I was very pleased with the set as they're soft and colorful with a bunch of textures and sounds. The manufacture's recommended ages is for 1 - 2 years but these are great for newborns. I presented my second granddaughter with these blocks as soon as she came home from hospital and she really likes them. The high contrast black and white blocks are perfect for new eyes. She tries to reach for a colored block when I'm holding her on my lap and follows the block with her eyes - she likes the color red. This is the original set I bought 2 years ago. I put them in my washing machine on gentle and they came out like new. I highly recommend these as a shower or new baby gift. They will last for years.
