What is the added benefit of the "gel"? ComfiLife makes this same pillow in a non-gel style and wonder what the difference is? Thanks.

this will be an educated guess but i think it has to do with keeping its shape. if its all memory foam then it would squish down more. the gel provides a little more resistance to it. i have not tried the non gel one, so i cant say if the other would hold up

Does it retain its shape? Antoine whiffs had it for a few months? Does it flatten out and stop working after so long?

I am 200 lbs and have had mine just over a year. I work from home 10 hr days 5-6 days a week. Mine has only just recently flattened out and will need to get replaced.

I am looking for something that will also help provide a little "boost" to my chair at work as am I a very short woman, will this add height?

The thickness is approximately 3 inches; sitting on it will add 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 inches depending on ur weight. It also provides excellent support

I don't think you could use it in bed as it is raised and would put pressure on your lower back. I use it on the couch and it has relieved my sciatic pain. Hope this helps.
