Amelia Bedelia 5-Book I Can Read Box Set #1: Amelia Bedelia Hit the Books (I Can Read Level 2)

These Amelia Bedelia learn-to-read books are perfect for first graders. They really capture the kids attention with the stories, puns, and jokes in each book. My daughter will read them over and over. There are some challenging words, but I like that- it's helping to grow her vocabulary. These are not boring at all and hold her attention- and mine!

We love Amelia Bedelia! This boxed set was a great deal compared to the price at a local bookstore. My kids laugh over her silly misunderstandings just like I did as a child. These books were just right for my 7 year old although at times I would have to explain the meaning behind Amelia's confusion.

Purchased this as a gift for a 4 year old. I love that they can be bedtime stories now and later be beginner reading books. Amelia Bedelia is a favorite character in our house. I was happy to find that you now can get the set together as easy readers. A few years ago it was really difficult to find the original Amelia Bedelia series. Great books and fun for the whole family.

I was concerned that these would have been reduced or modified from the original text or illustrations because they are labeled “Step in to Reading” and “Level 2” for beginning readers, but they weren’t! Exact same book as the originals. Kids enjoy them. Great set.

This book series has become the go-to reading I do with my relative with dementia / Alzheimers. Big font, simple words, semi-repetitive. Also good that it's kind of silly, simple, and happy tone. My relative doesn't always understand but it's easy and fun to read anyways. Thank you.

Arrived and the packaging had water damage.

By American, I mean the language, which is ok for the USA, but for a child under the British curriculum, many things sound odd. But also, the text and the language and the meaning are very difficult for 5 year old. It is definitely not level 2 under the British Curriculum, it is at least level 3.

These books are just like the ones I remember as a child. There are new Amelia Bedelia books but personally I don't like them at all – these are the real thing!

I am using it to help my 8yo daughter learn to read English while living in Germany. We’re from Canada and English is her native tongue, but she doesn’t get to use it with anyone but me.

I bought this set form my 6 year old granddaughter! Oddly enough, I bought these for my daughter 24 years ago and remembered her enjoyment. The drawings and literal interpretations are quite amusing and often down right silly. She loved reading them!!! Yay to reading! I’ve ordered 4 more.
