These are a very high quality set of basic gouges for hand-carving and decorating wood projects. Very comfortable in the hand, precision-sharpened edges that hold their sharpness, built to last a lifetime.

Great little set came incredibly sharp quality material. I would definitely buy this again. If you’re new to carving, you can’t go wrong with this kit.

I really love Beavercraft and had a huge smile on my face when these chisels came with a band-aid included! I think they are a great company and have wonderful experiences with their customer service. This is an ideal set for someone just getting started in carving. I want to clarify that these aren't intended for use on hardwoods. Beavercraft's site states this very clearly, but that's not clear here on Amazon. If you're looking to carve textures in hardwood (as I was) you'll need a harder steel, and yes, more expensive chisel.

I'm just staring out with woodworking, specifically with guitars and these tools work great for someone just getting into the craft. Great craftsmanship and nice and sharp.

Great set to get an example of each style. I mostly use the gouges and bowl knife. spoons are so easy with the curved knife. Came sharp enough to start with, didn't sharpen until after a bit of use.

I was hoping they would be sharper out of the box. I had to sharpen them myself. But, you get what you get for the price. They hold an edge after sharpening. The bandaids included with the tools was a humorous touch.

The carving set is a gift to our son and we cannot be more pleased with its apparent quality. A credit to the manufacturer and seller. I am a retired carpenter and would be more than happy to own this carving set myself.

Questo set di sgorbie è uno spettacolo, le uso per intagliate il legno di noce già da un po di tempo e fino ad ora gli ho dato solo una passata con la pasta abrasiva sul quoio, micidiali!.

These are wonderful. They came very sharp, they're holding up very strong, and the handles on this set have been perfect for both ambidexterity and chronic pain in the hands. I'm very happy with them, amazing quality.
