Sturdy well priced filter replacing one that lasted eight years

I bought a house with a koi pond, I had no idea how maintain it so I spent two years trying to figure out how to get the water to look crystal clear and nothing worked - I was ready to give up on it so basically this filter was my last hope. When I installed it the water was thick green full of algae and dirt, in three days of having the full filtration on I could already see my fish and about a foot in the water - within two weeks my water was crystal clear and now is pride and joy of my background. This product is absolutely amazing, I had to write a review and tell my story! Oh and the backwash OMG super. Easy, takes me 5 minutes. A must buy!!!!! Buy it, buy it, buy it!!!!

Product arrived damaged internally, and would have been impossible to realise until you filled it with water. It resulted in a flooded patio causing over $1500 in damage to equipment/furniture and having to rehouse all the fish in the pond. Amazon expects you to ship a 50lb wet, smelly filter back instead of sending you just the required damaged parts weighing 2lbs???😡😡 The UV tube in the filter was broken, so pond water flooded the UV bulb and ballast which both blew and water gushed out of the filter head. The only way to know this would be to unscrew the filter head on a "new" filter to check before connection. Who does that?? I have been installing filters for 30 years and this NEVER happened. (Unless you buy from Amazon) The partial refund from Amazon was $72 compared to the $200 in parts I had to buy elsewhere.

I've got a1200 gallon pond which is over loaded with koi and goldfish (about 60). Water quality was cloudy and algae was out of control. Hooked up this baby and my pond has cleared up and status that way without more chemicals. Cleaning is a breeze. Love this machine.

I installed this filter along with a new Laguna 2400 gph pump (highly recommended to go together). I am extremely impressed with how it has cleared my water. Along with the pump, the solid handling is exceptional. So you don’t have a “death can”, it’s important to clean these out frequently. At this point I’m using the scrapers every few days and taking the entire thing apart and cleaning it about every 2 weeks. It’s easy to do. The bad - this is a European made system and I had an awful time finding tubing that would fit with a tight seal (even the metric type). I ended up having to use a lot of silicon tape and a torch to heat it up and seal it on. Even then, I still had leaks. I finally had to use flex seal on two stubborn drips, which I’ve never had to do before. Also, a system of this size really should use 1 1/2” tubing, but the connectors that come with it only go up to 1 1/4”. I had to separately purchase the 1 1/2” connectors. Overall, a nice system with a few kinks.

prior unit used in koa pond lasted 10 yrs plus. ordered new PT-3000 and experienced defective back wash function = water continues flow from back wash outlet in off position. I had to place a dummy plug on outlet to use unit = not user friendly but likely not a common problem. All past purchases performed excellent as advertised.

I am 82 years old and am past the point of ordering anything I have to assemble. When I got this it was in two main parts with many smaller parts that have to be assembled. Unfortunately, the "o" ring to attach the uv unit to the main unit was either missing or I did not see it. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink!

Great pond filter

Absolute garbage. Very disappointed. Laguna zero help. Seal surrounding the UV bulb NOT sealed at all and now the entire head UV unit is toast. Shocked it didn't electrocute my fish. Apparently I'm expected to buy another head unit for this filter that's less than a year old. NEVER AGAIN.

Our pond was neglected for years and it was time to clean up It will take a few weeks but we can see improvements
