I now have full control of my three cameras.
I have been waiting for this SuperJoy Joystick release for some time now. I finally got it two weeks ago and it was a breeze to setup. I just connected it to my POE switch with an Ethernet cable and it powered right up. I got a regular 22" monitor w/HDMI hooked up to it and now I don't have to look at the streaming software to set up the shots. My favorite feature is that the "Auto Focus Lock" button, which flashes green when enabled, and I know the focus will not go hunting every time the subject makes the slightest move. I like how easy it is to set the presets by just holding down a numbered key for a few seconds and it is set. This one feature helps me a lot of time because the band does not set up in the same spot each week and I can quickly move each camera and save change the preset before every stream. I'm still learning all the features, but this was worth the wait. Well done PTZOptics!

Great equipment. Does just what it's supposed to do. Wish the focus was a little faster

Defective and used based on the package look.
Received defective item. I believe the product was used already. The package doesn’t look like new. Now tape around the box which is common in new item.

This is pretty good
This works great. I programmed with another brand pretty easily. When you push a camera it comes up using the hdmi. You can preview each camera and it's great

I lost ~$900 on my purchase from SolidSignal
Short version: I purchased a SuperJoy joystick from SolidSignal, and the serial number on the defective unit I received was different than the serial number on the box that it was shipped in. SolidSignal refused to accept the return because the serial numbers were different. Longer version: A few months ago I started volunteering at my church to help in the sound and media booth and quickly realized it was difficult to control the livestream PTZ Optics cameras with the PTZ Optics camera software application. After doing some research, I decided I would purchase and donate a PTZ Optics SuperJoy joystick controller to the church. I found that SolidSignal had the best price on the unit, so I purchased one. When I received the unit, I took it to the church, and it didn't take long to discover that the joystick didn't work. I immediately began a return process with Amazon and purchased a SuperJoy from a different Amazon vendor, because I was in a rush to add a joystick to control the livestream cameras. (The unit I received from the other vender worked fine, and now the church's livestream cameras are much easier to control.) After some time had passed, I checked on the return status of the unit I purchased from SolidSignal and discovered they only gave me $0.01 cent return. After several back and forth messages I came to understand that SolidSignal was claiming the joystick physical unit had a different serial number than the serial number on the box. SolidSignal produced two separate pictures (a picture of a box and a picture of a device with different serial numbers) to substantiate the claim. There are only few possible explanations: 1) SolidSignal is dishonest 2) SolidSignal was unknowingly cheated by a previous customer 3) there was a mix-up in the factory packaging process 4) one of the suppliers in SolidSignal's supply chain got cheated. I can only attest to the fact that I never had one of these units before I purchased one from SolidSignal, so the mix-up could not have been my fault. However, I ended up taking a loss of around $900 on the purchase of this item from SolidSignal. Consumer Advice: (It's too late for me, but this could help others.) 1) don't always purchase the item with the lowest price...carefully consider Amazon's recommendations, and read the reviews to determine whether a vendor will stand behind their products. In most cases, I believe your gut will let you know whether a reviewer is being honest. 2) take an uncut video (especially for large ticket items) while you are opening the package and capture as much detail as possible (addresses, serial numbers, outside/inside the box, visible damage, etc.). Vendor Advice: Don't let your customer lose money on a defective product. Purchase your items from reputable wholesalers or directly from the manufacturer. Ensure your suppliers stand behind their products with a warranty and/or a no hassle return policy. Make sure returned items that appear to be unopened are not put directly back into your inventory until you open the box, carefully check contents and be certain the item is undamaged and functional. Summary: Unfortunately, I cannot prove the unit and the box I received SolidSignal had different serial numbers when I received it, and I'm not sure it would matter if I could prove it. However, I can say it cost me $900 to learn that I need to be a more vigilant consumer.

Ultimately when I got this to work, it was just as the other reviews left by other users were: very easy to implement, and responsive. Couldn't believe it. And the panning is super-smooth. However, things to know before implementing this: -If you're planning on putting this on your network, DO NOT do so if you have networked security cameras on the same network switch as your PTZ camera and the Superjoy controller. I had 2 weeks of pure frustration and almost returned this because, I couldn't control the PTZ camera. The WebGUI picked up the camera fine, I could take snapshots from the web interface, and even return camera to its default position. But I either couldn't control the camera, or had to go through a weird procedure of turning the PTZ camera off, restarting the network switch, then the SuperJoy controller to finally get it going- and and not necessarily in that order. I was terrified of turning of the Superjoy, else I wouldn't have control of it again. I only got hint of a solution pouring over forums concerning the SuperJoy not connecting via network (of which there aren't many); and I got tipped off when someone was complaining they couldn't get their Super Joy controller to work on their network as well- and he happened to mention he had security PTZ cameras. I resolved my issue by putting the security cameras on its own router connected to the network switch- so the SuperJoy couldn't 'see' them. after that, the controller has been a breeze to use. -The focus tends to change on a whim, so things will suddenly get blurry on you. So I've learned to keep a finger on the focus button, to bring things back into focus -Also, the HDMI out doesn't work on all monitors, especially if you're using a VGA-to-HDMI adapter attached. You'll get the "Out of range" message on your monitor. I went through three monitors and finally got it going on a much older [and square] 17" monitor. Not ideal, but at least it works
