What did I get? A pretty great alternator!
Just got this today from Amazon. Box is beat up and alternator was wrapped in paper. Upon inspection, the alternator is coated in dust and debris and looks like it might be a swap job. It does say, Denso on it, so there's that. But I'm kind of nervous about this thing now. I'm going to take it to a chain auto store and see if they can bench test it. Maybe I'm just over thinking this whole thing? Edit on 6/30/22: Good things do come in bad packaging. Despite the horrible packaging and dusty, kinda used appearance, I went ahead and threw the thing in my 08 Odyssey EX-L anyway. Took me most of the day because I went slow to make sure I did it right and didn't miss a single nut, bolt, or electrical connector. I cleaned things up while I was in there and checked for oil leaks. A few days ago, I replaced the spool valve which is notorious for leaking into the alternator and killing it. So now I'm pretty much leak free. Anyway, got the alternator thrown in and put everything back together and when I turned the key for the first time, I was blown away by how well this refurbished alternator was working. My meter showed 14.4 volts coming out of the thing, and now everything finally worked again: air conditioning, windows, etc. And for some odd reason, my engine in now whisper quiet. So I guess the moral of the story is: Just cause it looks bad doesn't mean it is bad. My Odyssey is running great now and I couldn't be happier. If you're in the market for a new alternator, buy Denso and nothing else, even if it costs a few bucks more.

Trust a Denso even if it is a remanufactured one!
A quality alternator. Been several weeks and absolutely no problem. Should've used the remanufactured Denso the first time. The first one was a new 3rd party one from a well-known brick & mortar store, which wasn't very stable and ended up lasting only a year and a half. Installation was much easier than the first time because 1. I know how to manipulate the alternator through the tight space, and 2. Since this was a remanufactured one, the fit was not as tight as a new one.

Fixed Honda Pilot Check Charging system message
Works! I was getting a loud hum from my 2010 Honda Pilot and got a “Check charging System” message on my dash. Replaced this in about an hour and a half with the help of YouTube videos. It works great, came packaged in a Denso box with some brown paper wrapped around it, pretty much the same way you would get it at an auto parts store. The pulley didn’t wobble when I spun it and nothing appeared to be broken. Everything was very clean and looked good. I’m definitely happy I went with this one, now only time will tell how long it lasts. I’ll update this review if I run into any issues with it.

Installed this alternator --- Good voltage reading, quiet running
I installed this alternator on my 2011 Honda Pilot after the idiot light alerted me to the bad alternator, which was running noisy, and measured barely 12 volts. This new alternator fit perfectly and runs quiet. My voltage reading is around 13.8 with everything on. So far, so good. I will update if there are any problems. I almost bought an alternator from my local auto parts store, but the reviews were pretty bad for the ones they had available.

Not worth the price for a reman
My remanufactured unit lasted 13 months, one month over the warranty. Original car unit lasted for 9 years, which leads me to believe I’d be better off with a non-denso for the same price or not going remanufactured at all.

Replaced 2008 Honda Odyssey Alternator, works great!
As with a prior review, I received a defective unit to start, where the brown connector was shattered upon arrival. The experience was below average with Amazon, as I submitted the order on a Friday, delivery was supposed to be Tuesday, got delayed until Thursday. Didn’t open the box until I took the old alternator out on Saturday and realized the refurb was broken, and didn’t receive the replacement until Tuesday. Our van was out of commission for quite some time due to these issues. Project is a BEAR, I understand why dealers charge as much as they do. We saved hundreds by going DIY, but be warned, it’s a tough job, recommend 2 people. Part works great though, it’s quiet, fit perfectly, and a few weeks in with no issues!

OEM replacement, but not easy to install.
Replacement for a failed unit on a 2011 Honda Pilot. Fit was on point, but it wasn't an easy job. Saved hundreds, but it wasn't easy. Watched a few YouTube videos and made it happen. Releasing the tension on the serpentine belt was the hardest part.
