50 Liter / 13 Gallon Semi-Round Kitchen Step Trash Can with Secure Slide Lock, Black Plastic

The trash can itself works wonderfully. It looks and feels durable, has a very sturdy pedal, and rests beautifully against the wall. Regular kitchen trash bags (the flex kind) grip very well and don’t need any kind of band to hold the bag. (I’d imagine any 13-gallon bag would be fine because of the shape of the mouth of the can.) this makes it easy to take the trash out. The lock on the front is very helpful for keeping a small 10-pound dog out, and that feature was the reason we bought it. I was hoping my dog would lose interest because of the lid AND the lock. No such luck—I’m not sure how he got the can all the way across the kitchen while I was at work, but the lock held tight, and even after being (possibly) kicked around the kitchen, the can looks great. The lock will definitely not be released by a dog or a child; it takes a bit or force and dexterity of force to unlatch it. It’s not as difficult as it sounds, though. I’d definitely recommend this can if you’re looking for a sturdy and attractive trash can that gets the job done. Just don’t forget to lock it before you leave if you have a crazy pup! This is a replacement for a 20+ year old trash can of a different brand, so we just wanted something basic—with a little upgrade. This fits the bill.

Finally! My dog can no longer get in my trash can! My dog is very smart. She can open cupboards, doors, etc. Which was a problem because she ate out of the garbage can constantly. No matter where we put it! It was the worst! Out of desperation, we bought this trash can, drawn to the locking lid feature. We were not disappointed! She can’t get in the can at all. It’s so sturdy and heavy duty, she can’t knock it over or get the lid open. We don’t even use the locking feature, and she still can’t get in. I literally don’t worry about her getting in the garbage at all anymore! No matter how appealing the garbage is that I put in the trash, I know she won’t get it. 100% worth it! My quality of life has improved drastically! haha But even if you don’t have a dog problem, this is a great garbage can. The foot pedal is awesome, it’s super durable, it contains smells, cleans easily, doesn’t stain, holds garbage bags well, and is the perfect size for staying out of the way up against a wall but still being a good size. Look no further for a great garbage can!

Honestly at 30 I get so excited over things like trash cans and toilet seats lol but seriously this trash can is so nice it’s plastic so I think it will hold up better I’ve had many stainless steel ones in the past and feel like they get dented quite easily. It has a nice foot petal that feels very sturdy. Also didn’t even realize their was a wall bumper on the back of the can that you pull up and it keeps it the correct distance from the wall as well as keeping your wall safe from food particles, dings, etc very lovely little feature. Would purchase again! Also it opens quickly but the slow close feature is excellent it works well and I don’t have to worry about my kids getting their fingers smashed! Also holds a lot of trash seems quite thick for a plastic can also. Love it!

This was my first simplehuman trash can and I'm VERY impressed. I have other products by them that have always delivered but I didn't know what to expect from the trash can since I haven't had much luck with other brands in the past. The can is sturdy with a thicker plastic and very durable. I love the quiet soft close lid and the wider foot pedal. The lid has a lock but I don't use it since I don't have little ones anymore or pets. However, if you do, this would be very helpful. The trashcan has a "guard" on the back which allows the can to sit an inch or two from the wall--I love this! My favorite feature of all is the NON-SLIP bags. I've always had this issue with other can I've used in the past, and I absolutely hate it. But This was my first simplehuman trash can and I'm VERY impressed. I purchased their liners but have not used them yet, I have a large box of Kirkland 13 gallon bags from Costco which fits perfectly and I've had no issues with the bags slipping. Although the bags hug the rim, they're still easy to remove. Overall, I love this trash can and would purchase another from simplehuman in the future if needed.

This trashcan started off great. Our dog stayed out of it. It holds a lot of trash without having to shove it down, it contains any smells, it has a foot pedal to open or you can prop it up and keep the lid open. I have love this!! It is pretty hard to open too, but we have dealt with it because it kept the dog out. However, somehow my dog was able to get the lid open today. I have NO CLUE how my 50 pound beagle did it. We left for ten minutes and the lock was still pushed in. We know for sure it was latched because we saw him sniffing around it before we left so we made sure the lid was locked. Hoping it doesn’t happen again because I’m not sure what we will do if it does. Our dog is a senior and only recently started getting in the trash. Overall it’s really a great trashcan. Maybe it was a fluke I don’t know. We have had no other issues and have had it for about two months.

Never thought I’d write a review on a trash can, but this one is special! We have a 13 year old Border Collie that came to us with a taste for trash. This. Can fits a 13 gallon bag perfectly. It has a slide-lock that keeps the dog out even if it gets knocked over. If you choose to open the lid manually it stays open until you choose to close it. An exceptional product!

This trash can worked well for 18 months, then the pedal broke on one side making it hard for the lid to open. A couple months later it broke on the other side leaving the pedal completely unable to lift the lid. Part of the reason I bought this relatively expensive trash can was due to the 5 year warranty. Well given the trash can stopped working in less than 2 years from normal usage I expected to receive a free pedal quickly and painlessly... Well guess what, that is the opposite of what has happened. I tried to contact the customer service but they have this clever little trick with their website. After filling out all the information they requested, when I tried to scroll down to the bottom of the web page to click the "Submit" button the web page wouldn't let me scroll down all the way. When I got to the bottom of the page to the "submit" button the webpage would bounce back up before I could click. Pretty clever way to not have to uphold their warranty promise, but just wait this company has more tricks up his sleeve. After giving up trying to find a useful customer service friendly phone number, I figured out if I connected my Apple laptop to Apple TV and used my TV screen I could then actually see AND click the "submit" button. So first hoop from the folks at simplyhuman cleared. On to the next... Next hoop, the company's automatically generated email promised a reply in 2 business days I didn't hear anything until 4, ok not a big deal. I now have a response and hopefully my replacement pedal is on the way. Oh wait, despite having all the necessary information (including my mailing address, the exact part I need and confirmation from Amazon's website of the product's purchase date and the fact it is very much still under warranty) they ask me to order it myself and direct me back to the same page I started at to contact them. And I do, clearing the next hoop. So end of story right, nope, simplehuman throws another hoop at me to try to crush my determination to get them to honor their warranty. The replacement pedal they force ME to order for myself is suddenly "out of stock"!!! Can you believe it??!?!?! It was in stock when I sent my original email requesting help. So they included a link asking for my feedback regarding their customer service and I replied with a detailed email similar to this one about my dissatisfaction. No response, still waiting, broken trash can goes wanting and so do I.

I luv my new garbage can. Honestly when I first got it I was very unimpressed. I then took all the stickers off and got to know it and it is really well made and very simple and intuitive, yes intuitive. The lid when it auto lowers is quiet and smooth and it can be locked when kids or animals are around as well as having the option of opening the lid by hand. I especially luv the back bar that sits up against the wall so the lid will never hit the wall because you aren’t playing guessing guess. Furthermore for as lightweight as it is, it is stable which really impresses me. The standard 13 gallon bag fits snuggly on without coming off the top lip in the bucket. The price is great the one this replaced had a bigger price tag. And lastly, I need you to sit down for this one. I got the indigo blue,,, AND IT MATCHES MY BLUE HYACINTH MACAW,,,mic drop GREAT PRODUCT

Al na een half jaar gebruik schiet deksel uit zijn scharnieren en moet je deze elke keer terug duwen. Inmiddels schiet hij er al uit als je heel zachtjes op het voetpedaal drukt. Slecht ontwerp en het opsturen van een nieuwe deksel is geen oplossing want dan heb je hetzelfde probleem weer na een half jaar. NIET KOPEN!

ET surtout moins cher que d'autres homolgues pour un cahier des charges parfaitement respecté. Je ne sais pas à combien se vendent les sacs simple human, mais ce format me permet de trouver des sacs standards dans le commerce convenant parfaitement, à la différence de brabantia par exemple. Sa forme me permet de la loger dans un coin à côté du plan de travail sans manger trop d'espace. Entièrement plastique, ce dernier est de bonne facture, rigide et facile à laver, les odeurs partent. Ayant trois chats à la maison, le clapet de sécurité est appréciable au grand dam de mes 3 canailles. La fermeture lente est un plus également, la pédale a l'air résistante, seul le temps validera ou non cette impression. Dans l'ensemble c'est pour moi un poubelle haut de gamme en termes de fonctionnalité et praticité. Sobre, elle n'est pas très "design" comme d'autres. Reste à savoir si vous voulez une "poubelle d'apparat" avec souvent la contrainte de devoir utiliser les sacs onéreux de la marque et que vous êtes prêts à débourser la différence à l'achat et à l'usage
