Anybody else had a height adjustment problem? my seat won't adjust height while turning the knob around.

The knob adjusts the tilt tension, the lever on the right (under the seat) adjusts the heigth. The lever on the left locks/unlocks the tilt.

How comfy are the arm rests? I usually prefer ones with some padding/fabric on them.

They are not padded at all (on my white chair). Overall, the chair is awesome! ... but the arm rests which are very adjustable have a hard surface

Can the chairback be set to straight or slightly forward? I need one I can lean on without it setting me too far from the keyboard.

The chair can definitely go straight up, but not forward. You can lock the rocking mechanism in place too. Overall though I love this chair. I had crappy cheaper brand chairs, and they sucked ass. I've been using this one for a few years now. This one is awesome. I'm 5'9 240 btw. Thicc boi. ; )

What is maximum weight the chair can hold? I am asking for a 6'3" son who is about 270 lbs.

350 lbs. is the recommended limit per Maingear’s website. I’m 5’10” 245 lbs. and it feels great. Fall back for the taller folk.
