Best Wood Glue for Tough Projects!
Review Rating: 5 Stars Date Purchased: 04/10/2024 Specification Details - Product: Gorilla Ultimate Waterproof Wood Glue - Volume: 18 ounces - Color: Natural wood - Waterproof: Yes, ANSI/HPVA Type 1 water-resistance If you're looking for a reliable wood glue that stands up to all sorts of challenges, then you definitely want to check out Gorilla Ultimate Waterproof Wood Glue. I've been using it for both indoor and outdoor projects, and it's performed beyond my expectations. The first thing I noticed was how strong the adhesion was. This glue really lives up to its claims of being incredibly strong and waterproof. I've used it on several outdoor projects, including a birdhouse and a garden bench, which are still holding up perfectly even after several rainy days and scorching sunny afternoons. The durability is another major plus. The bond it forms is solid and withstands harsh weather without any signs of weakening. For indoor use, I love the extended working time this glue offers, allowing up to 15 minutes of repositioning time, which is great for complex assemblies or when you just need that extra minute to get things perfectly aligned. Cleanup is a breeze too. Despite its strength, the glue can be cleaned up with just water if you catch it before it dries, which is super convenient and makes it easy to maintain a clean work area. Overall, the quality, ease of use, and performance of this wood glue are excellent. It's definitely worth the price for anyone serious about their woodworking or DIY projects. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a top-notch wood glue that won't let you down. Whether you're fixing furniture or building something brand new, this glue should be your go-to.

Reliable
Reliable! I’ve used Gorilla Glue for a variety of projects—woodworking, household repairs, even fixing a broken ceramic mug—and it has never let me down. The bond is incredibly strong and long-lasting. I especially appreciate how it expands slightly as it cures, ensuring a tight grip on even uneven surfaces. The drying time is reasonable, and once it sets, it’s rock solid. Just be sure to clamp your pieces together and use it sparingly—a little goes a long way. It’s also waterproof, which makes it perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. If you're looking for a dependable adhesive that lives up to its name, Gorilla Glue is the real deal. Highly recommended for DIYers, crafters, and anyone who needs a tough, no-nonsense glue.

Excellent Glue with Poor Packaging
This is an excellent glue, and I'd give it five stars were it not for the fact that it is of extremely high viscosity and the bottle it's in is poorly designed at the nozzle, so getting it to come out is nearly impossible. I eventually gave up and scooped the stuff out with an old popsicle stick after removing the top of the bottle. At that point, I was working with a very good glue that set up nicely and provided extremely strong joints. I give it four out of five stars for the reason that the glue is a five star glue, the bottle is a five star bottle for a less viscous glue than this one, but the combination of the two forces a few workarounds when it comes to dispensing.

Performed well!
I used this glue to adhere two pieces of 3/4 inch plywood together to make a small table (13"x32"). After clamping and letting cure over night the pieces seems to have bonded properly. The glue dried clear which was great. I also had to use a small amount on just the corners of the birch edge binding I added to finish/conceal the plywood edges. The binding was self-adhering with heat, but the edges kept peeling a little so I used a bit of the glue on the corners and it was perfect. Full disclosure I also added 6 finish nails on the underside of the table just as reinforcement. Also, if you will be adding stain to the wood like I did, lightly hand sand off any excess glue so the stain will take evenly. I recommend this glue and would buy again.

Thick but just requires new thinking
I've always used either Titebond III or epoxy for wood glue ups. If it absolutely has to hold, gap fill, or requires filleting, very long glue time needed, epoxy gets the nod, otherwise I went with Titebond III. Titebond is getting a bit pricey though so I thought I would try Gorilla Wood Glue Ultimate. It's type1 waterproof wood glue just like Titebond III. As everyone else has already noted it is significantly thicker than any other wood glue I've ever used. This may be a deal killer for some because they don't want to have to change the way they do things. I don't mind trying different things to see what works better. I like the fact that this glue is thick. It didn't run all over the place and make a mess. You just can't apply it in the same fashion as other wood glues. I was using this for wide glue ups, 4 1/2 to 5 inches, so I took the cap off squeezed out a glob and, first, used a roller to spread it. I had been using a roller bottle with Titebond. Can't use that with this but the roller still worked well. It was actually much easier use than the Titebond. You don't have to be a careful around edges because it does not run. Then I tried a silicone squeegee (2 1/2" wide with silicone bristles along one edge). This worked even better. I could spread glue on 2 surfaces 4 1/2" x 27" on about 1/5th the time it was taking with the thin glue. Bottom line thicker glue is much easier to control. It only goes where you put it. It doesn't run off on to places you don't want it to go. Spreading it is much faster for this reason. If you're half way careful there's virtually no squeeze out either. I like this stuff. You can't thin it like you can with the type2 glues so of you don't like the thickness don't use it. It's thicker than yogurt but not quite as thick as peanut butter.

Good choice
Worked very well. The item could not be clamped so it took a little time holding it together and then I just let it sit for about 2 hours and it was dried and very sturdy with a good bond.

I am an LA-based engineer and a woodworking enthusiast (of considerable experience, I must add) who is spending a couple of months with family and friends in India. Having been quite familiar with the Gorilla brand, I ordered a bottle for a couple of projects that I was doing. I found that the glue had been shipped in an unusable coagulated form. This is a waste of time and money for me. Mind you, the product had been in an airconditioned room once it was received in Kerala. It is likely that the glue that was formulated for the climatic conditions of the US does not maintain its form or qualities in India.
