I had an old 3 tonne jack for years which died on Saturday (it was about 30 years old) so got this one. It works, lifted the front end of my wife's car OK (only a lightweight 1.2 tonnes however). There is a lot of slack in the piston mechanism, mostly due to the pin that I have circled in red in the pic. I made a spacer to take up the "up and down" slack (front to back slack has to be there to allow the pin to slide) and it has helped a lot. Two things I liked was the handle and the carrying case, however, one of these was an after thought because the handle has to be removed so you can close the case lid, shame... 29th Oct 23 Update: Changed the brake calliper on my XC60 and pads both sides. Jack lift the car fine and it is around 1.8 ton car with most of the kerb weight at the front (naturally I used axle stands while doing the work).

Great little jack, perfect for the back of the car. Lifts the car up with ease. Great value for money. Well made and easy to use.

At this price point I was surp rised, you need chucked for your back wheels though. However, I have changed my steering rods and my break disks/pads and saved myself a fortune. Well worth it, also picked up a nail and changed the tyre in about 4 minutes. Not bad.

Instruction pictures are useless. Only understood how to use it from a random youtube video. Jack itself is good.

Il cric a carrello risulta solido, il prezzo è contenuto, e non troppo a risparmio, il che è importante. Meglio non risparmiare su strumenti da lavoro di questo tipi. L'ho utilizzato su una punto 1.2 188, ed una passat b5 1.6. nessun problema in entrambe, sollevata nel massimo dell'altezza in pochi secondi. Cambio olio e gomme perfetti, se non anche altro. Consiglio inoltre , l'utilizzo di cavalletti nel caso si debba andare sotto la macchina o fare operazioni di forza o che comunque richiedano tempo. Il cric infatti è progettato per alzare la macchina, che poi sarà da mettere in sicurezza con gli appositi sistemi. Il cric è consigliato usarlo su terreni quasi lisci, (no ghiaia). Perché quest'ultimo appena alza l'auto, deve traslare in avanti per avere sempre il peso al suo centro. Ho provato sulla ghiaia, l'auto si alza ma il cric non si muove, il che si traduce che il cric si inclinerà e potrebbe non essere sicuro. Quindi per alzamenti da poco, sulla ghiaia va bene, il giusto ad esempio per un cambio gomme. Ma per altri lavori consiglio un piano quasi liscio. È possibile abbinare al cric dei gommini in gomma o estensori in metallo per avere meglio presa sul veicolo, e non forzare il piattello in acciaio del martinetto.
