FTX FTX5577O Radio Controlled Car, Orange

For the price this is a great little rc car. It can’t handle the rough stuff like my Arrma Big Rock or FTX Outlaw (for £50 I wouldn’t expect it to) but it’s pretty quick, the batteries last a decent time, and spare parts are readily available. It drives well on tarmac, short grass and small sized gravel. It struggles on longer grass as it’s not really heavy enough for the wheels to touch the ground so is difficult to control and can tip over. Due to the small footprint it’s not too stable at high speeds on very rough terrain either. That said, I’ve taken it off some big drops and jumps and it’s taken the abuse like a champ. I’d say it’s definitely kid proof - out of me and my two kids I’m the only one whose crashed it badly so far. I’ve definitely abused it a bit and the only damage ive managed is a slightly cracked shell which I’ve reinforced temporarily with duct tape. The remote control is ok, the ability to turn the speed down is great for kids to learn with. I’ve driven it out to about 50 metres with no noticeable drop in signal. It can be upgraded to a brushless system but in my opinion, given it’s size, it doesn’t need it. I bought a couple of cheap extra batteries and usb chargers and can charge them from a usb battery pack when I’m out and about. When the battery is low, the car enters ‘limp mode’ and slows down noticeably so you’ll know when it’s time to recharge or swap them out.

High quality product, durable and well made. I bought this for my 4 year old son. It’s taken a beating and still runs perfectly. Spare parts are easy to obtain. It’s unbeatable value and a very good entry level “real” tv car to get into the hobby. Me and my son love it. 10/10 all day long. Tip- buy a spare battery. The one it comes with lasts a good while maybe 15/20 minutes so better to have a spare. Also the speed of the car can be set on the remote so good for practicing. Love it

Best small rc car I have ever had great fun and great for a beginner

Just had feedback from my grandson who is delighted with it. He is now using it regularly and has an older version that he lets his brother or dad use! All came good in the end

This car is a brilliant entry level for anyone interested In RC Cars it's pretty fast easy to setup and fun to drive it even has a speed diel so if you find it to fast you can always turndown the top speed if it's too fast for you it's perfect for off rode and bashing also replacement batteries and upgrades are easy too find. For the price its amazing vale for money

I accidently bought two if these for my son. I was going to send one back but seeing how good the cars were I kept the other for myself. It is far better than the tamiya car Ive got. Half the price, more robust, faster and for us far more fun!

Great wee rc car, very quick and strong

Great little rc car, very quick at full speed. Would recommend purchasing a second battery as it can use up the power quickly if used on full power.
