How do you get the magsafe charger to stay in the holder? Is this sticky thing permanent? No magnet?

There is a sticky disc on the holder. You remove the film and stick the MagSafe on it. They include an extra sticker I the package. Mine has held up for ~ 2 months.

I sent it back because it wouldn’t hold my phone and went with a different car mount .

Do i need usb c car charger?

Yes...or if you have a 12v, get a USB-C charger to plug in there. I use an Aukey dual USB-C charger and I measured it as outputting about 17.1w for fast charging :-) Do NOT use the dumb USB-A plug that are included with cars with an adapter as they are very low output. Not the fault of the device, just the car's USB-A plug. Just use a high quality USB-C 12v and it should be good
