This little gadget was exactly what I needed for a dual monitor setup on my laptop. I always wondered what that tiny USB was for...now I know.

I am very picky when it comes to what my displays look like, and unfortunately, I have recently needed to use adapters to convert video signals as opposed to a native signal. Running at 4k60 on a wide color space I had issues with three different adapters in the past giving me some choppiness but more importantly seemingly desaturating the images and creating a halo around high contrast. Here are some pros and cons of the CalDigit adapter: Pros: - No halos or choppiness like I had seen in the past! - Fantastic build quality, the aluminum finish is great and the cable feels firm and rugged. - HDR works perfectly, cannot say the same for other adapters in the past. Cons: - A bit pricey compared to other adapters but well within the realm of reason. - Aluminum body gets warm during usage but this is to be expected of an active adapter. CalDigit just does it right, can't recommend it enough!

they work with my Caldigit dock

Easy to use. Plug in to my mac and connect to an LG ultra HD monitor with no big issue. The only thing is it blackout for a second every now and then. like you turn it off then turn it on periodically. Kind of annoying. So I am thinking get a replacement to see if it is only this device or it is a common problem.

I bought this adapter and Caldigit TS3+ dock for a dual monitor setup. Dock and monitors are on pretty much 7am to 9pm. It’s been working great for 1.5 years until the second monitor using the adapter stopped working. Windows can still see the other monitor but screen wont display. Powered off dock for a few minutes, but no luck. Decided to try a usb c to displayport cable I had and second monitor came back on. This adapter is dead.

I connected this converter to the type c jack of my TS3 plus docking station, and it worked successfully, but the output display signal was problematic. More accurately, the colors are distorted.

Pricey, but gets the job done (4K at 60Hz). After several hours of use it is warmer than my hands.
