Drill America 1/4"-20 UNC High Speed Steel Tap Set

I needed a bottom tap on a blind hole on my Harley. This tap did the job . It was aluminum so tap was not stressed much but it did a fine job with tap magic cutting fluid. I would buy again when needed. Mike Ski.

This worked great. I had to tap two wheel studs for spare tire carrier and it worked great. Wasn't sure quality but it got the job done

The tap set (I ordered #8-32 3-piece set) arrived promptly. It was nicely packaged and appeared to be of good quality. The cutting surfaces were sharp, and the taps nicely finished. I used them to tap several blind holes in brass, and they worked just fine. Other reviewers have complained that they are flimsy and not durable, but I certainly didn't observe that. They seem just like any other tap I have used in the past. I'd definitely recommend them.

Id never used a tap in my life before and to save money I figured now was the perfect time to learn. This set is to be used with a hand tap wrench which I also bought from Amazon to be able to use these. In this set you get three different taps of the same size. One is tapered and is the one that is used when starting a new hole to be tapped. You then have another one that is basically a tap used to recut threads that have either become rusted or damaged in some way. And finally you have an end tap, that is this is the tap that you can run through the entire project and then back out to make sure that youve cleanly cut the threads. One thing I did learn about doing this is to take your time going a quarter turn then backing out then starting again to cut more thread. You do this until you have completely gone through the piece of metal then swap over to the end thread. Take some patience and time but its all worth it in the end.

Listing shows a set of taps, only one actually comes. Very disappointed at the misleading listing with no clear description. Beware.

This set of taps is NOT what is shown in the photo to be a set of three taps taper-mid-bottom taps but what arrives is a single tap. Don’t be fooled by the photo and lack of item description like I was, buy elsewhere!

Parts had a coating that looked like rust, but isn't. Good tools, they work fine. Great delivery, I am happy!
