After recording content on a usb drive, can i add move content behind that or does the box recorded over the original content

Unique file names are generated for each recording, so previous recordings are not overwritten. I prefer to connect the storage device to a PC and rename the files to reflect the content, making it easier to identify what file I want to replay.

Can i use this to record from iphone apps

Yes. It is a screen recording device. Anything that u have hooked up to it and displayed on screen it can record, to USB drive, Hard drive, PC etc.... U may need to purchase a connector like lightning cable to USB but yes will work

Does this also record overlays like "skip intro" buttons on services like netflix and amazon?

Hi, I hope my answer sheds some light. To my knowledge, the unit records what you are currently watching in real time. After you are done recording you can fast forward or rewind your recording just like a VCR, but if you're looking for DVR type capabilities (like skipping commercials, pause live tv while recording in real time and recording more than one show at a time ) the unit doesn't do those type of things. Basically, it's just a digital VCR, what ever you're currently watching you can record that or it. For cord cutters, the only DVR's you buy are Over The Air / OTA, which only requires a HD antenna hook up.

Can I pause my recording and restart the recording when I am taking a break?

No you cant pause recording. You will have to stop and restart recording for breaks. But it does come with software so that you can convert and combine video files.
