Cheap and effective.
I rent and when they readied my apartment they just painted over my peep hole. I didn't want to bother maintenance over something so minor, so I just bought this. Its nice and has a little flap to cover it for extra privacy. Its a good little fish-eye peep hole lens, very easy to install by hand. No tools really required. For the price you can't beat it.

Seems to be good quality.
My old one had a scratch on the lens somehow so I got this new one. My old one didnโt have the little door on the back which is a nice touch because sometimes the sunlight would shine through it and it would be annoying. Optical quality seems good enough. It will do the job on checking quickly to see who is at the door without opening the door. Fair price too. About the same as one at Loweโs but that didnโt have the little door and I didnโt have to drive to pick it up.

It is a peep hole
Got this for my door. Installed easy, and had held up fine. It is indeed a peep hole. Not much else to say

Difficult to install.
As simple as it looks, this is not a very satisfying product. For installation you need a drill with a 9/16 bit. This is not a common size in home kits. I also find the field of vision being fairly limited.

Great peep!
Excellent! I paid a little more, but it was well worth it! The view is exceptional.

Works and has wide view angle
For some reason even though I've cleaned it inside and out I still don't have great picture quality but I still have enough to make out if there's someone on my back porch. Since that's all I needed and it does that for me I'm satisfied. The end product looks professional and it's nice not seeing a peephole of light come through the door during the day. Installed by myself, a DIYer

Great value; easy to install, and accurate 5-Star reviews
This was a great find! Overall, we are VERY pleased with this product. The price was fantastic at $7.95. It really did take only five minutes to install. In fact, we debated longer about which height to install it longer than it took to install! The lens is a wide angle fisheye lens. It shows the entire front porch clearly. We already had a 5/8โ paddle drill bit, so we used that instead of the 9/16โ bit (which was also fine, but it is a tiny bit large, so we recommend the 9/16โ bit). We did drill a pilot hole, then we started with the 5/8โ paddle bit from the inside and then the outside. *Tip 1: When doing the second hole from the outside, be careful not to push the drill bit all the way through; we slipped and it went through and took a small chunk out of the inside of the door and a chip of paint along with it. *Tip 2: When unscrewing the unit, be very careful not to unscrew the lens! We accidentally popped it out, and immediately put it back in, but there is now some dust inside, which affects the clarity.

Simple but quite good-looking
This is a simple device with no wires, electronic circuitry or batteries, but it makes installation straight-forward and it works which is to get a good view of who's knocking at your door. One little note: the drilling of the hole through your door requires a 9/16" drill bits. Most weekend handyman like myself have drill bits no bigger than a 1/4". A 9/16" drill bit will cost more than the door-reviewer itself. I used the 1/4" drill bit to drill the hole and enlarged the hole with the drill bit running. It took a little patience but I got it done.
