Tomcat 0361610 Multi-Catch Live Mouse Trap, 1 Pk : desertcart.ae: Books Review: In theory and functionality this trap works great. In fact, it caught all 6 mice living in our quail coop the 1st night. However, the cheap plastic that it’s made out of, coupled with the stupid ventilation holes along the bottom front, gave them an easy beginning point to start chewing through, and in no time at all were able to chew a hole big enough that as soon as I picked up the trapped, they all zipped back out before I could even pull it out the whole 8 inches that it was sitting in there. So, for a few dollars more, I just purchased an almost identical trap that’s made of metal, so will actually keep the mice in this time. Well hopefully, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed they aren’t smart enough to know exactly what it is now, so won’t fall for it again… This is so infuriating and disappointing. I’ve been trying to get these nasty little rodents out of my bird’s home for a week now. They’re all up in their food and water, they scamper around all night long and keep them awake. Ugh. And I literally had them all, but because of these poor design flaws, they’re right back to snuggling up in their hidey holes as we speak. Ridiculous. Review: These things work very well. I wish I didn't know that, but the mice showed up this fall for the first time in years for some reason, so we're back to the routine of making sure all the foundation entry points are sealed and evicting the unwanted tenants one or two at a time. For starters, they catch mice. You put it out with a smudge of peanut butter inside it and the next morning voila, you have a mouse or two. The clear top also makes it easy to see if you caught a mouse the majority of the time. I say "majority" because once in a while the mouse will hide under the ramps that tilt up to prevent it from walking back out of the trap which makes it harder to know if you caught one, but that's rare in my experience and one of the times it did happen I saw a tail sticking out anyway. I know, gross. They're also easy to reset. I simply put the trap back in a new spot, sans mouse, without even bothering to rebait it or freshen it up for them. They don't seem to mind that their forefathers turded the place up a bit - even on the peanut butter. I know, that's even grosser. But we're talking rodents here in the first place. The only tricky part I've experienced with these traps is occasionally the mice panic when you open it to let them out in your neighbor's yard (just kidding) and hide under the ramps. Then jailbreaking them can take a little gentle shaking of the trap (of course you're going to be gentle, otherwise you wouldn't be using a humane trap in the first place). But that's a minor nuisance considering the traps work very well for their intended purpose, which is to catch mice easily and set them free so they can be eaten by neighborhood cats or owls. Seriously, I highly recommend these traps.

Worked Perfectly!!!! After trying to catch 1 mouse with some other Tomcat products. The Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap finally caught the mouse that had been eluding me for days. I had to bait the trap with the Tomcat Attractant Gel and some peanut butter to get it to go in. Once inside it was firmly trapped until we released in a field about 1/2 mile from our house. It took the mouse about 1 minute to figure out how to get inside, but once it got in it was firmly trapped. It hid under the ramps when I approached it with it's tail sticking out. Very effective live catch mouse trap. Attached is a 59 sec video of the mouse trying to figure out how to get to the bait inside. It finally went inside on the opening on the other side (not visible in the video). The tail inside shows the last second of the video

Unlike a previous brand of live-catch mouse trap, this one actually holds the mice. Like many other reviewers, I baited the trap in defiance of the instructions. The moved bait was the only way to detect a capture, because as soon as a person comes into the room, the mice hide under the ramps! At first I thought the mouse had moved the bait and escaped, but I eventually found him under the ramp. This product could possibly be improved by making some part of it clear, so you can see if a mouse is hiding under the ramp.

Had one from a few years ago that seemed to work OK. Caught a few mice and decided to order more. Before new ones arrived, mouse chewed thru a side hole and escaped. When new ones arrived, noticed they no longer had the side holes and hoped that had solved the problem. Now mice chew between the base and cover to escape. Base needs to made of a stronger material in order to contain the mice. Does not meet my needs. Will not be purchasing again.
