We all know “Dapper Dan” from O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and just like in the movie, this pomade definitely lives up to the name. And honestly, every time I use it I think, “I don’t want Fop, dang it! I’m a Dapper Dan man!” The quality is excellent, and it holds hair really well without feeling overly greasy or stiff. This is actually my fourth can of it, which should say a lot by itself. A little goes a long way, so each can lasts quite a while even with regular use. It gives a clean, styled look with a nice medium shine and keeps hair in place throughout the day without flaking up like some cheaper pomades do. Another thing I like is that it feels smooth going into the hair and washes out easier than a lot of heavy pomades I’ve tried. The scent is also pleasant without being overpowering. This stuff smells like freshly squeezed mandarin oranges. It holds well though the day and isn't overpowering. Solid buy.

As a big fan of "O' Brother Where Art Thou?" I just had to get this product. I wanted the Red tin, but I prefer a shinier finish and medium hold. The product works amazingly, looks great when combed, and stays in all day. Even if you're not big into styling, a little pomade goes a long way to prevent excess frizz, "poofiness," or curls. This particular pomade smells incredible, I should add. My only real complaint is the price. You can often find many other pomades for far less. Heck, you can even make some for pretty cheap too. (Update Nov. 9, 2015: This product is still going strong. I use Dapper Dan pomade about 3 times a week, maybe more. Sometimes I use a little, sometimes I use a lot. One tin has lasted me 5+ months, and probably will last nearly 2+ months more. I should note, I DO have short hair, so long hair might need to buy more often. This product still dazzles my nose with its scent; I hope they never change it!)

In all seriousness, this is decent stuff. It provides a good strong hold throughout the day, and has a very pleasant scent, which smells of citrus (specifically grapefruit) with a light hint of vanilla. It has a bit of a shine without being overtly wet/greasy-looking. However, I must admit that the description is somewhat misleading; I do not find that it is "perfect for re-combing", as it gives me a very dry and hard/stiff hold, almost like a very heavy-duty hair gel or maybe some hairsprays. Not even necessarily a criticism, as it's still a fine product if you want a quality pomade that will keep your hair in place, but I just wanted to point out that the above description is not 100% accurate. Though to be honest, it's pretty much what I expected from a water-based pomade. It DOES wash out very easily, which is a plus. Texture (before application) is pretty 50/50; I do find that, like some other water-based pomades, the older it gets, the more it tends to get pretty gelatinous and flatten out against one hand when you rub your hands together, instead of "liquefying" (?) between your hands and spreading evenly across them. So the longer you let it sit around the more you may have to use in a given session to get an equal distribution across your hair.

Repeat buyer., consider me a Dapper Dan Man! (IKYK) This pomade has great hold and doesn’t look greasy at all. And the citrus smell is nice and subtle.

Great smell and no flaking like cheap gel. Holds hair in place very well. The key is to rub it in your hands to soften it up before applying. Would recommend.

I've only recently gotten into styling my hair with any regularity, and originally got this on a lark after hearing George Clooney go on about being a "Dapper Dan man" in O Brother Where Art Thou. Ended up being a great purchase. It's very easy to use, perfect for styling short to medium length hair, and even has a pleasant scent. Highly recommend.

La uso ormai da tempo, ottima per capelli corti perché mantiene bene l'acconciatura senza lasciare residui, durante la giornata basta bagnarsi un po' le mani e si rimodella benissimo.. Con capelli un po' lunghi tende però a non mantenere l'acconciatura a lungo, ha inoltre un profumo veramente buono.

Sehr angenehmer Geruch, deutlich weicher als andere Pomaden mit mittlerer Härte (vergleichbar mit Schmiere, jedoch nicht so klebrig) leicht einzuarbeiten und umzuformen, aber dennoch wetterstabil. Der angenehme, fruchtige, dennoch aber dezente Geruch ist für sich allein schon ein Kaufargument. Farbe: Orange, im Haar farblos Glanz: Mittlere Glanzstufe Tragekomfort: Sehr angenehm Rückstände an den Händen: Minimal Gleich nach der ersten Anwendung ist es meine neue Lieblingspomade geworden. Jedenfalls eine Empfehlung für Liebhaber.

Holds hair in place absolutely well, not too oily and easy to apply. I’ve used Uppercut and Suavecito and this is miles better and cheaper
