The cooker uses 450 watts per hour, max. 2 times a day would equal 900 watts used on average. 900 watts times 30 days = 27,000 watts used for a month. 27,000 watts = 27 kWh at your rate of .20 cents per kWh = $5.40 per month to cook approx. 180 cups of rice or $.03 cents to cook 1 cup of rice!! I understand that these cups are actually equivalent to about 3/4 American cups.How much cooked rice does this make if filled it to the 2 cup line?

: 3 cups capacity, however, the cup that comes with the cooker is smaller than American measuring cup. Its true capacity is 3/4 cup, which is 6 oz. So this rice cooker will take up to 18 oz of uncooked rice, not 24 oz by American standard of 3 cups. This is very misleading, and I wish the manufactures would not advertize that it cooks 3 cups of rice. In Japan, cup size may not be 8 oz, but in the US, we think
