I bought this to replace a head where I had managed to break the plastic that the metal anvil (as opposed to the cutting blade) is moulded into. On receipt of the part, I discovered that I had an early version of the pruner. If you have the later version, the head bolts on through the shaft and the operating cord has a split block that makes it easy to fit it onto the existing cord that runs down the inside of the shaft. The early version that I have has a clamping bolt that holds the head onto the shaft and does not have the split block in the cord. I therefore needed to disassemble the unit completely to fit the new head. Instruction supplied were very good though. Helps to take some photos before you take it apart and watch you don’t twist the flat cord when threading it through the centre of the extensible shaft.
