. Gueray Portable CD Player [review no. 0940 - January 8, 2022] I purchased this item July 2021. I wanted to use it for several months before I left any comments. WHY I PURCHASES THIS ITEM: I like to listen to audio books - books on CD's - and wanted something small and portable with built in speakers. My previous battery-operated unit died, and this was my replacement. WHY THIS PARTICULAR ITEM: Price. It was the lowest in its category and seemed to have all the features I desired. If upon receipt the unit was unacceptable for my needs, I know I could return it via the local UPS store to Amazon. USAGE HISTORY: Since July 2021 I have listened to approximately 10 audio books consisting of 60 CD's. POSITIVE COMMENTS: I have had no audio issues with this device. My last unit used 2 AAA batteries this device has a built-in rechargeable battery. It came with a cable you plug into a UBS cell phone charging plug [which is plugged into a wall socket]. There are two lights next to the charging port- RED it's charging BLUE it charged. Disconnect the plug and your good to go. I haven't measured it but based upon my usage I would say you get 5 to 6 hours to a charge. I prefer the rechargeable batteries if you want to know. The sound quality of the audio books is surprisingly good considering the small size of the speakers and I don't have to turn the volume up to max. I have played some classical music and the sound was "ok" but imagine trying to get a Mahler symphony out of those matchbox speakers! You have a full set of controls but for my use I just use 'play" and "Off" NEGATIVE COMMENTS: The unit is small and is loaded with buttons. Treat it carefully, follow instructions and don't drop it! Not a unit for a child or a knucklehead I say. Otherwise, I have no issues - honestly what I want it to do it does - and does it well and is still working - what more can I say to that.

This is the second Gueray CD player I bought. I'm still using the first one and really like it, but it doesn't have external speakers. This one does, and that's why I bought it. I was disappointed to find the speakers are fairly weak even at top volume. It's ok if you're indoors and fairly close to the player, but outdoors it just doesn't do the job.

Fast delivery and exactly as described. This CD player is perfect and has a lot of functions I didn't expect. Great purchase.

Works, but volume too low to hear well in car

This is the worst example of a product that was never tested by a potential user. The to only opens half way making it difficult to put cd's in. Also the latch is very difficult to activate. The on and off switch is so small it is very hard to operate. also the plug for remote speakers is located in the front instead of on the back. The only way to charge the battery is to use a computer . In general this is a piece of junk. I wish I never bought it. Anyone reading this should buy a different product.

I have gone through tons of disc players over the years as I use them to listen to audio books as I garden and work. And the worst part of the old players is all the batteries. But with this player you no longer are dependent on batteries!! Easy to charge, easy to use and has a speaker so you can listen without ear buds. I don’t know who came up with this model but they hit it outta the park!❤️

My problem with it is that it did not come with a chord to recharge it. It needs a point end to go into the tape recorder and I did not receive one. Got earplugs with the correct point, but not the charge. The company did send me a note to write them if anything was wrong. I was going to write them tonight, but I have misplaced their letter and I feel this review will let them know that I am overall happy with the recorder, but when the charge runs out I will need a charger to charge the recorder. Thank you!

Très bon lecteur CD, facile à utiliser, très bon qualité/prix

Früher ist meine Frau durch die Wohnung mit dem Laptop rumgegangen, damit sie dessen integrierten CD-Spieler benützen konnte, um ihre Hörbücher zu hören. Als ich zum x-ten Mal die Szene sah, dachte ich mir "ich weiss schon, was sie zum Geburtstag kriegt". Als sie den tragbaren CD-Spieler sah, war sie sehr glücklich! Am Anfang war sie jedoch ein wenig skeptisch, denn die Marke ist nicht bekannt und sie wusste nicht, ob das Ding was taugen würde. Das Gerät hat jedoch alle Erwartungen übertroffen. Tonqualität ausreichend für Höhrbücher (nicht getestet mit Musik-CDs, aber da würde vielleicht das Höhrerlebnis meines Erachtens ein wenig leiden) und auch laut genug, um beim Rumwerkeln in der Küche oder im Büro nebenbei über das Schicksal unseres Lieblingshelds mitzufiebern. Unser Auto hat (grrr) keinen integrierten CD-Spieler (ein wenig dämlich, wenn Sie mich fragen), aber dank eines Aux-In Kabels (mit 2 männlichen 3.5 Jack-Steckern) können wir im Auto über diesen tragbaren CD-Spieler unsere alten (und neuen) CDs hören. Die Batterie hält nicht schlecht... obwohl ich keine genaueren Angaben mitteilen kann (abgesehen davon, hängt meine Frau ständig am CD-Spieler, auch am Abend, zum einschlafen... und sie hat sich nicht beklagt, dass die Batterie schlecht wäre). Mann kann auf Pause drucken oder sogar auf Stopp, und das Gerät merkt sich die Stelle, wo man stehen geblieben ist, was sehr praktisch ist. Einziger Fleck bis dato (es könnte aber sein, dass am Gerät momentan etwas falsch konfiguriert ist... oder gar ein fehler der verschiedenen CDs der Saga ist, die meine Frau momentan hört): manchmal verpasst man beim Einlegen einer neuen CD die ersten paar Worte (1-2 Sekunden?), weil der CD-Spieler sie gar nicht wiedergibt. Ansonsten alles top. Wir sind mit diesem Kauf sehr zufrieden!

I have ordered recently and received this CD player just today and already tested and would say very impressed with quality and clarity of speech and functionality. As my main reason was to buy it for my study purpose of German and French language I am more then impressed, this CD player is the best for studying languages. Haven't tested it for music yet because I don't really need it for music but I believe it should play any music with no problem at all.

Ho acquistato questo lettore cd per fornire la mia jeep renegade di un lettore compact disk. Nonostante il costo, purtroppo, l' autoradio originale ne è sprovvista ma ha una utile entrata AUX. In questo caso questo lettore cd mi è venuto in aiuto! Ho potuto recuperare tutti i miei cd che ho sempre acquistato in copia fisica! la qualità audio è perfetta e anche con uno stereo di discreta potenza e qualità come quello della macchina si sentono bene i particolari delle voci e i suoni. Il lettore inoltre ha i tasti e il display retroilluminati: questa cosa aiuta molto in auto! è anche possibile inserire nel lettore una scheda sd per la riproduzione direttamente sulle casse integrate. Gli altoparlanti integrati sono sicuramente un punto a favore! considerando la dimensione hanno sicuramente un ottimo volume e permettono l' ascolto anche senza altoparlanti esterni o cuffie! paragonerei il livello del volume a quello di un pc portatile di medie dimensioni. un grande punto a favore di questo lettore è la possibilità di aumentare o rallentare la velocità della traccia audio. ciò lo rende PERFETTO PER AUDIOLIBRI E TRACCE di libri scolastici, magari linguistici, dove è necessario ascoltare bene il testo per magari rispondere a questionari o domande. Con questo lettore si ha la possibilità di rallentare la traccia audio per poter comprendere meglio il parlato.
