How to tell 100% sure if corroded inline fuse (toyota aftermarket foglamps) is 14- or 16-awg? wirestripper seems imprecise way to measure!

FLowWOOLF NATURALS,  It is hard to tell what gauge the wires are, yep, wire strippers are not a good means for sure. I usually have a small piece of different gauge wire handy like these sizes and I just compare my known sizes to the size am working with.  14 gauge is fairly big but good to use if you have incandescent fog lights, these usually pull a lot of amps, if LED's don't worry using 16 gauge., just make sure you have the positive/negative leads correct. Anyway you can't go wrong using a little heavier gauge wire
on most everything you're wiring.  I've had very good luck using these fuse holders  and the caps keep the dampness out.  I have them on my lawn mowers, ATV, car, van and on my DC emergency lights in the house and garage 0¿0  AND, you can solder the leads and insulate them with heat shrink !!  Better to have a blown fuse than burnt equipment or house 0¿0  So, just cut out the old
fuse and wire in one of these new ones.

I don't recall having to purchase a fuse for it so it must have come with it.

will this holder support a 20 amp fuse ?

Ten gauge wire will support up to 30 amps, so a 20 amp fuse should be fine.  In theory, the fuse should be the weakest link in the chain.

Question 4

What is the size of the wire with the fuse? I need at least a 12 awg wire for it to fit in my circuit.

Wire is pretty thick. I don't have it in front of me but I am an apprentice electrician and it appeared to be, from lasting impression, 10 gauge. Maybe only 12 gauge. But, I remember being happy that it was larger than 14gauge. I didn't test the water tightness, and it comes as one continuous 12"-18" loop so you'll have to cut it with this I mind
