First of all, I bought this for short-term use, rather than as a water feature, so can't comment on longevity. i used this to pump a citric acid solution around a vehicle heating system to remedy a blocked heater matrix. On arrival it was easy to set up, didn't require much in the way of bleeding, was super quiet and other than the plastic lightening in colour a little, survived 12+ hours of being submerged in a mild acid solution. Unlike other reviewers, I'm pleased it came with the standard UK 13A plug

Great pump, very effective and does exactly as I need it to do, run a small water feature. The only slight issue was the moulded plug as I needed to thread the cable through a tap hole on the old Belfast sink I was using. When I cut the plug off and exposed the wires it was the American wiring system - blue, white and green. Not a big problem, but worth pointing out. Quick update - this has been running 24/7 since installation two months ago and no problems at all. I had a bit of algae develop, so switched it off to clean out the sink and pebbles etc, so had a tidy of the filter for the pump and everything looks perfect. Back up and running again with some barley extract in the water to keep the algae at bay. Delighted with this item, really great value.

I bought this as a replacement for a older failed fountain pump and therefore needed to connect it to the existing power supply feeding the fountain from a buried cable in the ground. This meant I had to cut off the 3 pin plug supplied. The wire colours were white, black and green. As these are not standard UK colours I needed to verify the live, neutral and earth. I did this by resistance checking between the cores and the plug pins. The live and neutral (white and black) were fine but I could not detect any connection between the green core and the earth pin. This means that, if the pump were plugged into a mains socket as is usually the case, the pump would not be earthed, very dangerous for a device submerged in water. If there was a short from live to water then, without the earth connection (and of course a suitable earth leakage breaker) then the water could become live. And this fault would have been undetected. As it was a sealed moulded plug it was hard to look inside but I did mange to remove the collar at the plug entry and found that the earth conductor had been cut off at the entry to the plug and not carried through to the plug body or pin. (The photo is not great I'm afraid but does show the severed green core). Anyway, for sure there was no connection as verified by the resistance check. Was this a one off?? As an aside, it does emphasise the need for qualified personnel when mixing electricity and water. BTW, the pump works very well!

Really disappointed with this pump. It worked well for a few days but then started making a loud buzzing noise and has barely been functioning since. I followed all the setup steps carefully and kept it clean, so there’s no reason it should have failed so quickly. It’s a shame because when it worked the flow rate was great and it seemed ideal for my setup. Sadly the quality just isn’t there and it didn’t last even a week. I’ll be returning it and won’t be buying this brand again.
