WARNING: THE CURRENT COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL SWATCH PALETTES DO NOT MATCH THE COLORS FROM PRE-2010 COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL BOOKS AND CONSULTATIONS. For example, I remember the winter palette from the 1980's (when my colors were first done) had a beautiful "icy pink" (google icy pink and you will see many examples), yet on the current swatch "Icy Pink" looks exactly like light peach. Here are some more examples of what their named colors look like on the current swatches: "Icy Violet" looks like a kind of light gray. "Icy blue" looks like a bluish light mint. "Navy" is so dark it is almost black. "Emerald Turquoise" looks like kelly green. "Emerald Green" looks like a pine green color. "Pine" looks like dark muddy brown with a hint of green. "Clear Teal" is a dull, muted gray blue. I could go on... Because I had ordered an official CMB product, I made the mistake of not looking closely at the colors in the swatch palette I got, never thinking that the colors would be so wildly different from the CMB books. In CMB's 2008 book, all of the colors look like what you would expect when you see the name - but not the current swatches. And, to be clear, the color differences are not just a matter of value, tint, or tone; these are actually different colors (as in varying amounts of red, blue, and yellow in each). Also, the swatch palette I got was not a misprint or mistake; upon further investigation I can see it does match the photos here on Amazon and also on the Color Me Beautiful website. Unfortunately, I waited too long and missed the refund window and am now out the already overpriced $40 for the swatch palette. BUYER BEWARE!

Nice and small to take with me in my purse. Hope it holds up! There was a card in the box that said a lipstick was included, but there was no lipstick!

I was informally tested years ago when the Color Me Beautiful concept was introduced. Recently purchased the Color Me a Season book (choose your most complimentary season, clothing styles, makeup colors, jewelry metal and size, hair styles by facial shapes) and color fan (which has a much more expanded color pallet with multiple shades from dark to light for each color). Noted one reviewer's comments that there were a lot of discrepancies between the two. Curious, I bought both sets of color cards to compare them. Removed from the fans and mounted on paper in sheet protectors, then compared side by side, there are remarkably few discrepancies between the two Winter pallets. The most notable is true red, which is not recommended in the Season pallet. Oh, well! Makes me feel like a fire engine anyway.

colors printed on plastic cards so many variations just wear whatever you like

This color fan is a game changer! I just love the colors! The guide introduced me to colors that I hadn’t thought about and it’s easy to carry in my purse. People are actually responding to my color choices…the fan helped me combine my color palette and I feel great in my clothes! I’m getting lots of compliments on how I look plus, the complimentary lipstick went with everything! Great feel and color. Perfect for the clothing I’m buying. I can’t wait to try more of the lipstick colors in my season.
